Had the i5 , till my hole mainboard crashed.
Now have the AMD PHENOM x4 965 with Water Cooling , and it runs faster.

If your playing games like Battlefield, or any other game that takes up a lot of power, then Intel. Intel i5 and i7 CPU's are like Brute Force, where AMD high end CPU's like the Phenom II 945 and up are better for multi tasking but can still play games just not as well.

If your talking about games like Counter Strike and stuff, then an AMD is a better choice because they're cheaper and they can play the game flawless just like any decent Intel CPU.
