I remember when I just started playing I would get Butterfly like ALL the time on agil heroes, nowadays I get mjollnir/mkb instead. What do you think are excellent situations to get a Butterfly and why? (as in a core build item, not when you've farmed like sick and grab the butterfly as a nice extra).

Last time I can remember buying a Butterfly would be with Luna after my Satanic.

i buy it every time with bone flatcher ,cause he obviosly has got low hp and the evasion is doing a nice job , the extra damge is ofc nice too

blfy on a bone is waste of money imo. some mkb/buriza fit very much better on him. but bons = divine ;)

30% evasion is worth ! when the carrier doesnt have much HP

Evasion stacks (just like in magic resistance) in diminishing returns. 0,75 or something.

Nah evasion doesn't stak at all. Butterfly doesn't stack with pa evasion etc! On a hero like void butterfly is a perfect choice since it stacks really good with voids backtrack! I usually get butterfly on carry heroes when they allrdy have pretty much hp and ur facing other dmg dealers.

I am sorry, didnt read the whole thing. :) Backtrack is a dodge, and not evasion. My bad ,loda :)

( yeah evasion doesn't stack with others %dodge ) the same for the bash, you won't won heavy % of bash if you make a basher on a void or on a slardar but you will won the whole % if you make it on a barathrum cause his 3st skill is considered as physical dmg and not bash

Yeah, agree with Loda. The evasion is really good when you have something else that also stacks with it, i.e. void's skill.

Some people get butterfly on Spectre, which could be good, but you should think of her disperse skill. If you take damage with spectre it is a chanse that it gets dispersed = your enemies will take damage. Getting a heart instead making you tank more damage could deal more damage with disperse than the attackspeed and damage coming from butterfly.

Though if the opposite teams heroes are very weak, butterfly might instead be a perfect choise if you dont get focused that much :) But mostly I would say that HP is better than butterfly on spectre. (This got all focused on spectre, but nvm ^^)

anyway, imo butterfly on spec is rarely seen, so no worries here.

actually i use butterfly only on agi heroes, that have some kind of proc ability (e.g. stun, slow, extra dmg etc). the most other carry heroes don't get that much benefit from it, if you would get another damage item for the same amount of money.

Imo the best possible hero to use butterfly is Gondar, as it stacks with his dodge and makes him ridiculously hard to hit.

imo it only stacks with faceless void ... because the backtrack triggers different from the dodge trigger.

Well it doesn't stack.. You guys know what I mean.. A 30% chance to evade + a 20% chance to dodge is pretty nice... I won't play void in pub games anymore... Void with Butterfly, Mask of madness, assault cuirass and 2 Craniums is pretty ridiculous

y cuirass and cranium are ridiculous on void pretty useless when u ever have a good AS with butter and MoM and a passive bash.
But anyway void was better before.
Now his strenght is really weak, he is not anymore an imba hero

Well seen as though void is a ridiculously good farmer, buying items such as cuirass is not for him only but for the rest of the team. And bashers are for extra stun and + Str... Try that build then tell me it's ridiculous mate

Bfly is one of the best artifact in game...i usually use it as a last receipt on may heroes...rullz on tiny:P

prefer Heart!

I mostly get Bfly now after my Manta on most heroes I play carry with, pretty sick :D
