For all those rogues out there, or people playing a team with a rogue, I am here to answer as many questions as I can to help with arena. Please be as specific as possible, making sure to state what classes are on your team along with the specs and if asking about how I would approach a certain team make sure to give specifics on that teams make up as well.

Hello!
I would like to ask you about our 3on3 team, we play Resto-Shaman,Sl/SL Warlock and Combat Rogue. The Shaman plays in Resto Gear aswell... So we do not know what to do against RMP, if the our Rogue is on the Mage, after some time the Mage is able to sheep our Shaman und the oppenents rogue and mage finish our warlock. After loosing many games against this setup, we decided to rush the Priest with Arush and full burst, but if the Priest does not fall in the first 2 minutes, we will loose the game aswell... Do you have any ideas, tactics etc for our team? :)
If you need any other informations just say something plz ;)
Yours Acrioz
(sorry for my bad english... :> )

you wont got sheeped as resto sham. your lock have devour magic, the sham have shocks, grounding and LoS.
the only time the sham can be sheeped is by his own mistake (fear range) or standing in a nova, but your lock can dispell it or grounding / shock.

Hmm, I am not too familiar with that comp you run, but shadowstep would definately help you more against rogue mage priest so you can stick on the mage while he gets purged, I would think with purges on the priest and AR up killing the priest would be one of your best strats, but like you said you have little room for error, the only other thing you can do is try focusing each target or doing swaps according to who you can CC or not until you see what gives you the best results, and if you cant get any good results then they probably should be winning.

I'd like to ask you a more generic question if you don't mind, not so much about compositions but about your journey to the top, what would you do to become a better rogue? Basically how did you start out becoming a better pvper? Do a ton of arena matches and learn as you went or duels and got to know the ins and outs of every class etc
+4 thumbs

mostly duels and after every dueling thinking of what I could of done to make my strategy stronger until I developed the single strongest strat against every class/race/spec that I could think of and try to stick to it as much as I could with an alternative strat for every situation where something goes wrong with the standard strat, for example a resist dodge parry, all the retarded shit that makes nothing in this game reliable.

Hello Neilyo and thanks to share your professional opinions to us,
My question is: what is the best Talents spec for me (a Priest) with a Rogue in 2vs2 Arena's Team, thanks.

20/41 combat maces with 4 points in vile poisons and blade twisting.

Oh sry your the priest, disc is best, I am not sure of the exact talents, but you can look at Shazovv on armory, he is on the highest rated priest rogue team in bg9, idk if his armory shows the spec he plays in 2s though, you can also compare it to Swarm's spec and Mykke's as well, they are all great priests on tichondrius.

Hallo Neilyo i have a question about your spec. My question is not why you speced SS it's why you speced Assassination and not combat. because aren't improved sprint a need in arena. I play rouge but have not started playing high rated arena yet and for me improved sprint is a life saver when i meat either a frost Mage or a BM hunter.

Imho the problem with rogues atm is the lack of burst damage and thus the predictability of the class, how do you cope with this and what would you change to the rogue without making it imba.
Mutilate and combat rogue are too easy to control, so I am talking about the Shadowstep rogues.

Shadowstep absolutely needs to break slows or at least ignore the slow for the duration of the sprint, shadowstep is needed most when the rogue is getting kited, the rogue is getting kited usually when he is slowed, but it is in this very situation when the rogue is slowed that shadowstep fails a very high percent of the time, if the desired target to shadowstep to is moving while you are slowed, upon shadowstepping to them it is very likely that they will already be out of range before you can land even 1 attack (usually shiv/ks) and the sprint is nowhere close to enough to compensate for this gap, that is why it needs to break slows at the least. To address the lack of burst for shadowstep something needs to be done to eviscerate to make it useful again like it was at lvl 60, eviscerate is a total joke and is complete garbage, preferably buffing the ability itself making it a viable finisher for all specs or something like shadowstepping before an evis reduces their resil for the evis by a certain amount. Also abilities like abolish poison either need to be toned down because they are so anti rogue even if u have full poison talents it is amazing how much it ruins rogues, either that or make our slow and wound poison undispellable like warriors.

hi there, could you sum up a bit which comp would you use (between follow options) with its strongest and weakness if posible? And what spec would be the best for that comp? Thanks!
war/rog/dru ; war/rog/pala ; lock/rog/dru
pd: asuming new bufs/nerfs if posible hehe :P

War Rog Druid is probably overall stronger than the other 2 right now because the low amount of counter comps to that specific comp in high ratings, although rogue ret pal druid might be stronger, other than double melee countering lock rog druid it is a overall strong comp.

What teams do you think currently counter RMP the hardest
+2 thumbs

hunter lock druid, rogue lock druid is pretty good against it, not too sure what else, i havent been running rmp much lately.

what would you suggest to 2346 vs "euro comp"? counter zerg the lock doenst work too well, catching the druid offguard is hard as well vs decent teams
+2 thumbs

The counter strat is get lucky shaman burst crits on anything that has a chunk of HP missing, we lost once when our mage went from 98% - 0% in 1 second.

Don't worry about answering this too specifically, but how are you planning to play the blizzard 3v3 competition through the group stages and would you be prepared to switch classes in the knockout stages for counter-comping?
+2 thumbs

Yes and yes hopefully, I recently got access to a full s3 warrior that I have been practicing arenaing on, this is my first time playing anything but a rogue, but I am a firm believer that if you can play 1 class to its fullest potential you can learn any class relatively quick, going from dps to healing without any experience would take the most time though, but fortunately for me gumbot and pronne have healing covered so all I need to do is learn a warrior which I already after a few times playing feel pretty comfortable in that they to me are much much more simple than rogues, a warrior is like a rogue with no cds b/c they are powerful enough to not need any and a for a rogue to be viable they have to play to near perfection and learn to avoid unlucky percentages that plague the class, as a warrior you do not have to do any of that, you can actually just be an average player and be viable still. That is wow for you!
On a side note ***Neilyo 12 uploading to warcraftmovies.com and SK soon*** it was rushed due to the final round of the skill competition in an attempt to get more votes, i only have about 2 fights from each bracket, but they are good ones, and 3 minutes of awesome CS clips at the end!!

Heya Neilyo,
Stuck at 1900 with fMage/rogue in 2's.
Just continually get gimped by SLSL lock/druid and more specifically pally/ SLSL lock.
We pretty much have our strats worked out for the rest of the combo's. Its just up to us to pull them off.
Im shs with 4p in vile. and mage is stock 17/0/44.
It just seems that 1850-2k is riddled with lock/healer teams.
Cheers

Pally lock is almost impossible, lock druid is very difficult as well but winnable, by both opening on lock, then swapping to druid immediately, if you think he would be fast to trinket blind him first then swap if not then save it for blinding the lock during a fear cast or something, the problem with this is even if u succeed in killing the druid both your mage and yourself are worn down by the locks dots, that is where LOS comes into play, you have to los until you guys can get enough health to finish the job, or if it comes down to a 1v1 vs the lock if it is not lordaeron i prefer to los until prep is up while dpsing his pet if he keeps it on me and bandaging/eating when its not.

Do you think Druid/Lock will die off a little in 2.4, bearing in mind the lifetap nerf? I currently can't stand playing my lock because we have to play SLSL (i just play 2's and a little 3's) and I can personally only see things getting worse after the patch. Do you think UA might make a return, purely for the pet tap and will this make locks even easier for a rogue to dominate? (hope it's ok to ask 3 questions ;D).

I can see the nerf hurting locks a good amount, I think they will tone the nerf down a bit, it will definatley hurt the outlast comps but im not sure how much, might want to send gumbot a PM.

Is there any way Rogue/Disc Priest can lose to WL/Disc Priest when playing on the same skill level?

do you think the game is broken when it comes to double melee in 3s and a lock?

Hey Neilyo, could you give us a quick rundown of the current state of the game as far as 3v3 arenas goes and how you think 2.4 will impact it? If that will take too much of your time, could you at least give us a rundown of what's the overall goal in some of the more popular FoTM's are such as, what does a team of Warrior, Warlock, Druid or Rogue, Mage, Priest aim to accomplish generally? What I mean by that is like do they aim for mana war, or outlasting due to certain favors, or burst, etc. etc. I know this isn't too clear I hope I'm making some sense. Thanks in advance.

rmp try to kill fast rogue war druid also usually try to kill fast but they can outlast as well.
other than that its rock paper scissors (counter comping)

quick question about how ur 5v5 setup: How would you handle this combo, Who u would target and or general stategies. Warrior/ele shaman/MM hunter/disc priest/holy pally. My 5v5 which is currently in the 2k-2.1k range were struggling vs this comp, WE attempted to Focus our dmg on the ele shaman in hopes of sticking the target easily and cutting off most of his burst dmg. They almost exclusively focused our warlock, and there shaman was very defensive, running LoS etc it was difficult for our lock to do any dmg from being focused and our mage was playing defensive (lots of sheeps) to keep lock alive wasn't able to chase shaman for dmg. We ate burns from not enough pressure and eventually our lock dies. Should we have played more defensive with our Lock as in running LoS rather than attempting dmg? Just wondering who u guys would target and gen strat, thx.
+1 thumbs

that is like 2346 with a hunt instead of lock, and in 2346 u train the lock and tongues the shaman and with the war being cc'd there isnt enough dps form the sham alone to kill anyone so i would dps the hunter probably.

OK, Thank you. I've got another question regarding Mutilate/Shadowstep.
I'm playing the Druid on our Druid/Felguard-WL/Rogue Team at 2393-Rating in BG1 (Germany). We had several discussions lately about which spec is the best for this comp. The Top Teams on our Realmpool consist of mostly RMP, Druid/WL/Rogue, Druid/WL/Warr and Warr/Double Healer. We made the best experience with mutilate so far, our rogue seems to put out much more damage with this spec. Otherwise we're gonna add a warrior to our team and I can't see Mutilate being viable in a two-melee comp...
Looking at the top Druid/WL/Rogue teams at the SK-Gaming Rating i couldn't recognize any favor spec for this lineup. So what is your oppinion - does mutilate's damage overwhelm shadowstep's flexibility in this 3on3-lineup or not?

I played that comp with 41/20 up to 2500 in season 2 and now have been playing it as shs although we havent gotten significantly higher only because of the new popular teams that counter our team now that werent previously there. Shs seems to make the teams that are harder for RLD more beatable, and if the team isnt one of the harder teams to beat then shs is good enough.

Hey, how you doing?
a couple of questions
- how you use to kill a resto shaman? ( if you can..xD)
- do you think in a 1vs1 rogues combat always will win the rogue that does a sap first?
one more....
- NERF resto Druids....what do you think about it?
Thanks man

To kill a resto shaman u have to interrupt like 15 heals in a row by altnating kick KS gouge... if they arent bad and have equal gear and you are shadowstep they can win without casting once.
the rogue that gets the opener has a really big advantage but if the rogue that opens is NOT prep and the rogue that gets opened on IS prep it can turn around.
Druids could use some small nerfs.

A few questions.
I will be starting 2v2s with a geared SL SL lock (im a rogue). What is the best spec to go, many have said stay Shs. I have fist weps currently, going maces when I can hit 1850.
Would it be recommended to kill dps fast CC healer in those 2v2s? Also should I sap 3 times, blind and go on to locks target? Basically what should I do for CC?
My lock friend has hard times with rogues, how can I manage against rogue druid/priest teams?
Lastly if you have time, I tried vanishing right before a Pom pyro, saw you do it once, didnt work out haha.

shadowstep or combat maces is best with a lock for 2v2.
a lot depends on what race your enemies are if one of them is undead you probably dont want to try to cc him. As for rogue druid u can watch my 6th and 7th videos we fight druid rogue in that, u usually have to kill the druid. Rogue priest u shouldnt win but usually priest is the best target.

none, the best 3v3 team SHOULD be the one with the most skilled players but this game isnt about skill b/c it sux and its just all counter comping, whatever counter comps popular high rated teams is the FOTM

Hey,
We're currently running war / lock / paladin. We have some problems with RMP. What do you suggest is the best way for us to counter the RMP? The biggest problems seem to be when I inevitably catch a counterspell and within the time period the warlock dies even if he is topped off from rogue and mage dps.
Also, in general with teams, have you ever gotten into a huge rut and if so...how did you guys get out of it? We were 2240 and we've dropped over 200 points and we have no explanation as to why. Things are coming close to dieing but something in the execution just isn't there anymore. It's extremely frustrating and sad because we were well on our way to the top and now we're just free-falling on teams we would normally beat.

Not too sure if you guys should be able to win consistently against RMP, i really cant give much good advice for your comp b/c i dont play it. Yeah we have gone on a losing streak but only from getting unlucky queues against counter comps, just have to not get unlucky with queues.
