Just starting

So, I'm about to start playing WoW and I've been looking at various videos and been reading some stuff. Enhancement Shaman looks really cool to me, but I also want to do nice damage in PvP and I'm not sure if a Shaman is the right class for that? Now I don't feel like playing with a rogue or warrior or running around healing, i want to do damage and kill stuff/people. Now I'm doubting between a shaman and a shadow priest, I've also read that Warlocks are quite overpowered so..

All suggestions are welcome.

For what i saw, you like the chars with spells and such more than the rest (rogues, warriors...), so, if you want to be dps and not a healer, shadow priest and destruction warlock are great, and if you want to try something without spells and such, hunters are also good dps.

In my opinion, the best thing you can do, is try those classes for a few levels, and see whats then one you like the most. :)

I think i'm going to try Enhancement Shaman, would that be good too?

Give it a try, the best to help you decide, its to play a bit of each, see whats the one you feel better playing, and than choose. :)

(wont say Enhancement Shaman is better or worse, because im not very familiar with it)

Its not fun to play shamie in arena though.. you will pretty much be first target.

Well, if u are toptier geared ench shaman then you hit like a truck for real .. but idd, you die to quick .. the second u start healing as ench shaman .. byebye =)

shaman is a nice class, but not for PvP imo, maybe if you go elemental.

Enchan shaman really depend on their procs from WF.
Healing shaman in PvP is bit fucked, no HoTs and nog special shield like a pala..

In PvE i find shaman find, since my main is a (resto) shaman

Warlock is the best mix about easy leveling, good at pvp, pve monster.

But if you think you could have fun with shaman you should roll one, you shouldnt force yourself to play something juste because its pretended to be the best.
By the way its true that for Arenas PvP Enhancement Shaman could be a bad choice.

mage

mage/lock are good all around
take a rogue if u like melee/hunter for ranged

To me it sounds like you want a ranged dpser, and with the recent buffs hunters have became very successful in the arenas. Elemental shamans can probably satisfy your eyes with the huge admount of burst damage they can put out, although they are fairly limited to the 5vs5 bracket.

Shadow priests are very apriciated pve and can do very well in most ladders in the arena, if you find the right partners (nuke teams).

Id say hunter. Amazingly fun to play, especially after the buff... and put up sick numbers

I'm gonna agree with Sabbat, try the classes you think lokks interesting for a few lvl's and then decide.

if u are between shamans a spriest i would choose the priest, u gotta love dwarfs!

for beginners warlock should be a good choice ... you cant play enhacement shaman in the high ratings its nearly impossible...4% of all shamans have 2k or more...its just a very weak class in the moment...but nothing against the elemental shaman he has a powerfull output....a shadowpriest is okay if you know a good rogue or mage or warlock who will do arena 2v2 with you .... shadowpriests are very good DD for pve too...
