Resto Shaman and Haste

I had a quick question on gemming with spell haste. I recently re-gemmed all of my yellow gem slots with +10 haste, and added some haste items such as the pvp trinket. Since adding this I have noticed a substantial increase in my HPS, easily beating out much better geared shamans in my guild (currently 8/9 BT) in healing. I was wondering if I should simply forget about the socket bonuses and gem all slots haste after I meet the requirements for my meta, or continue to match sockets?

Here is my gear,

Will do my best to stay logged out in my Haste gear, but since I go with 4 different specs each week here is my resto pve stats: 2050 Healing, 175 Haste, 142 Mp5 w/o water shield.

Thanks for your advice!

Although I'm not a shaman I would say that you should only go for socket bonuses if the bonus is really good, e.g. the 9 healing on the T6 chest. However I don't believe that any socket bonus could outweigh haste gems, so I would suggest to only gem for haste, however use 2 purple gems to be able to use the mana regen meta gem.

I disagree with Fenira, I think you should go for every single set bonus because no matter what it is, it could help in some way. But what I would do is put +11 healing and 2mp5 gems in each red and blue slot (Purple gem) and +10 haste into all yellow slots. It would leave you with an increased healing and some more mp5 just to help ya out.

Even though a set bonus seems pretty wortless I would still go for it. Stamina: if I have a lag spike in Azgalor's Rain of Fire, that stamina could save me. Unless the set bonus is agility (lulz) or AP, I think you should go for it.

Only if you start lacking haste or have too high of mp5, you should replace some of the +11healing/2mp5 gems with +10 haste ones (Try to replace the +11 healing/2mp5 on items that have a more worthless set bonus, like if you're stacked on mana, screw a +4 intel set bonus)

If you follow that logic Davie then how come you have Vitality on your boots?

Because Vitality gives 4mp5 and 4hp5. That's why.

Boars speed. And to the original poster disregard any of the item bonus's which are shit, things like +stam +int.

Why boars speed and not vitality?

The benefits of vitality are negligible when you have an alternative enchant that can improve your movement speed by 8% and give +9 stam which of itself negates the 4hp5 (lol guys vitality ticked and saved me from rein of fire)

you'd need inc movement speed + sta in way more fights in sunwell rather than +4 regen

@daviejoness
I have to agree, That u should get every set bonus. It will help in some way. I play a 70 Resto shammy my self,
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Demon+Soul&n=Untouched

Getting my self pretty much at the place where i want, i would prob only change 2-3 things towards haste, (now that im always in a sp group) id get the illidan cloak (haste), and the badge spell haste trinket, and getting Blessed Band of Karabor.
Dropping mp5 personlly wont make to much of a differnce, but ur tps will def shoot up.
Thnx and GL :)
