Cogent issue - workaround?Zechs

If you don't know anything about the cogent issue, well, lucky you. I'm wondering if anyone has found a way round this. My warrior would've had his s3 sword this week but i missed it because of this stupid cogent bs. HLAP!?

Download make an Account bla bla.
Get Sockscap via the google link on the your-freedom download page.

Start your freedom and use the wizard to get going , set a wow profile on sockscap and the options to socks5 127.0.0.1 and the port to 1080.
Start wow by starting the profile in sockscap (you can drag it to your desktop as well)

I just hope you'r not totally lost when it comes to figuring things out ;)

Hold on. Is your freedom a device that runs wow through the same ports as explorer for instance?! this means if all other ports except for the basic ones are closed u can just run your freedom and play anyway, even if the game runs through port 8xxx usually?

Let us just hope that Cogent and TeliaSonera are getting their asses together and fix the issue. According to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cogent_Communications this is not the first time the Cogent has issues with other providers.

What I am wondering about the Sockscap is, if that service aint too limited to make WoW enjoyable with a decent ping. HTTP Tunnel for example makes it also possible to run other stuff through the HTTP Port (80) but the speed just sucks. But maybe I understand this wrong.
