You can only reduce damage taken from crits by 25%, which is 493 resilience. Everything over that will only decrease the chance that you'll be critically hit, which makes it more worth to go for other stats once your resilience is capped.

one thing to notice is that you need to invest a lot to get res above 450, only very res oriented gemming will bring you that high. normaly you only see priests going very heavy res, a lot of other clases will be around 350-425

technically then if you had sad 800 res at the current level you would be crit immune? so the dmg it reduces wouldnt matter really? but isnt there something like if the hit would of been a crit but the res reduced it to a hit it still procs the talent if it is proced by crits so what would happen then im confusing myself lol =[

Talents procced by crits can only proc on a crit. Technically, every hit CAN be a crit so it won't proc just because resilience caused it not to be a crit.

dosent resilence reduce the crit dmg?

It does reduce critical damage to a maximum 25% (493 Resilience or... well 492.5 as SiStaH stated).
