I am going to roll an alliance rogue in s5, but have no idea, what race to take
All the racials look tasty..extra vanish,free trinket and passive stealth detect, poison remover and root braker...
Racials got balanced in 3.x.x, but still...what is the best rogue race for an Alliance boi in WotLK?

if you'r a rly skilled rogue i would defently go for the NE, not only the increased stealth but also shadow melt which allowes you to restealth freeley. i guess you can say human against night elf goes out to equal, but skill wise the NE would be better, (Rogue vs. Rogue this goes, (increased dodge rating)).

well in my opinion you could choose any race you like, if it is the style, looks, shape, dance, voice and background which you find interesting and cool, because, the racial stats are almost close to each other and is useless by the time you go to a higher level due to the gear and stuff + the racial skills are pretty good and almost similar to each other too.
to get things easier for you make a gnome if you are planning to go for hardcore pvp because that size helps alot xD if you know what i mean lol, and you get to break free out of snares and stuff like that "extra trinket" which is found alot in arenas "CCs".
if you wanna look cool and tall with your gear you can go as a night elf or human both of them have their special racials "back up vanish" + "extra stealth" for night elves and a "feign death" skill like for humans + the ability to detect other stealthed rogues by a passive skill.
and also you can choose to be a dwarf but its kinda rare but still a good choice that stone form aint bad dude.
all in all if i were you i would choose a gnome thats the nutshell xD

I like humans ^^ Human female rogue's hits are very hot :) And racials are good.
+3 +3 expertise (Swords & maces) and stealth detection increased (A little bit)
also immoblize remover (Every Man for Himself)
Gnome is also good. I like too. +15 engineer, immoblize remover, +10 Arcane resist (pretty good)

i am stuck: human male or NE male...hate that awful human runnin animation, and Nelves rogues are totally cliched..

definately human engineer w/ passive perception are you kidding me and a free trinket
if you do 2v2 with 2 dps human imo is the best followed by gnome
neilyos spec is pretty sick i am thinking about doing his spec or mut /prep idk though
I dont do 2v2 with a druid
with the prevanish going against other rogues knowing when to use it is of utmost importance but as a human with engineering googles there is no reason u shouldn't get the first sap unless a pro rogue knows exactly where u are and prevanishes or trinket vanish cs u or trinket blind cs or trinket blind saps u
you just gotta be on your toes and expecting certain things
knowing what your enemy is doing before he does it is how u beat them
i run rogue /mage and i have been sapped by humans b4 and i simply trinket vanish shs cs if they are next to me otherwise i wait for the cs or sometimes ks with no healer u need to be able to trinket early sometimes but against quality cc teams they can stack cc on you for a while if you aren't careful

I'm a fan of nelfs. the extra vanish really is fantastic, and the passive avoidance and increased stealth.

nightelf > gnome > dwarf > human

second choise would be dwarf FEMALE, they are pretty sexy

human best ofc, for a very offensive class as rogue 2x dps trinkets are huge, especialy hudge attack power proc and on demand trinkets
