Ok, first hi all :) never posted on your forums before.

For a while now, i have been looking for the best DPS done by a survival hunter on Brutallus, with 1 hero/lust, in a normal raid setting, not one done to max the DPS of only 1 player.
I have had no luck in this at all, and it is important to me as i want to know what room i have for improvement and what i can do to achieve the best that is "possible"

So i managed to get a hold of 1 of your WWS reports from 6th august on Brutallus, looked at your survival hunter and drooled over the gear ofc :P

Gear on armory is same at time of kill, ofc spec is not, im MM atm, and ofc 0/20/41 on the kill.

We both had 1 hero/lust, we both had 2x BM hunter in group with the same(ish) amount of FI's 7/8, i had a good even crit rate on the kill and i assume at 53%/48% so did Valandu.
Valandu had a feral druid in his group and a shaman dropping agility (unless with 3 hunters and a feral druid the shammy dropped something else, but i doubt it) i ofc had neither of those. I had a mage and a resto druid in my group.

then there is the crazy gear difference between us.
and add to that the difference in fight duration, resulting in Valandu spending a larger percentage of the fight under hasted conditions.

Is the the normal DPS of Valandu or any other SK / top 5-10 world ranked PVE guilds survival hunter(s) on Brutallus, with a sameish setup?

Or is there something im missing that accounts for me in much lower gear and much worse group setup, doing 99 DPS more than him?

I havnt seen any other WWS reports, wither of SK or any other "top" guilds survival hunters, so i have nothing to base any assumptions on.

Well, on that link you posted hes pet didnt do any dmg, i think it was that kill the bet bugged out or something and got stuck the in ground.

ah ok then, that makes sense, i did think it strange, but like i said, i havent seen any WWS reports except that one.

so 2.8k+ with 2 lusts, feral druid, 2x BM hunter and shammy dropping agi. thats sounds more like it :P

now i have an idea of what im aiming for with correct group setup, and best in game for every slot.

oh i almost forgot, is that 2853 DPS with 2 lusts the best he has ever done? is it the best any surv hunter has done on brut? 2 lusts helps, but it is not uncommon. just eager to see what is the actual best done on brutallus by a surv hunter :P

What baotin said, pet got stuck :( Also each wws recorded isnt me going all out to break whatever records there is, im human trying out different rotations etc aswell :). Anything above 2.2k with the kind of group your describing would be decent, if jow and stuff is up allowing you to pop haste pots im sure you could prolly go 2.6kish, maybe even more.

yeah, i can imagine u test all sorts, i do the same, i prefer personal testing to say cheeky spread sheet or most forums tbh, and the pet thing - lol, i cant believe i missed that on ur WWS :P , that must of been quite funny tbh :P
i remember when we 1st started on Brutallus, my pet used to basically refuse to attack him :P i would spam attack and he would just sit there, looking at me :P dont know what happened to stop it, but it hasnt happened since the 1st few nights on him.

and do u mean 2.6kish with the 5-7/20/34-36 spec, DST and enough passive haste? cos i dont have the gear for that atm, Gruul actually does hate me!, which is why i go with readiness spec, and enough haste to stop steady chaining.
or did u just mean 2.6ish with the 2x BM hunter setup or the 2x BM + feral and shammy setup, and propper useage of consumables and cd's?

there is alot of 'spots' in the brutallus/felmyst area wich your pet basicly bugs and gets stuck. good way to prevent it wich i always do now is just put the pet on 'stay' close to the tank and attack at engage obviously.

2.6k you prolly need a few sunwell pieces for. ive never been anything else then 7/20/34 while playing surv, its the specc i think is best both by experience playing it and in spreadsheets. i guess one could argue readiness on rapid fire is a big boost but then again, imp hawk ftw.

i went with the 7/20/34 spec for a few weeks and i found it to be no good without the haste to back it up.
what i means is, as u prob know, not enough passive haste + hawk proc = 2:1 still, so it seemed to me like imp hawk was being wasted, as if it doesnt change my rotation to a 3:2 with only passive haste (including drums), and a 1:1 with DST/rapid fire/hate pots, then it is not really doing as much as it can with the correct haste.

i use 0/20/41 as i dont have the passive haste or often a full rotation of drums to cause my rotation to change with hawk procs, are u saying that in ur experience u get better results with imp hawk regardless of passive haste+drums? or that u have always had the haste to back it up?
or am i missing something completely?

ive never done any calculations without haste gear as surv. ive tryed some different rotations etc during the time i got more and more but never with 0. cheeky's would come in handy for u if you already dident check it.

ah cool, i see what ur saying, u have always had the haste gear.

and yeah ive used cheekys b4 and done live tests and its about 157 haste with a 3.0 speed bow to drop into a 2:3 when hawk procs, that 157 ofc includes drums, so around the 80 passive haste mark, depending on latency it can be more.

i dont use 0 haste, i use ring/cloak/polearm, my prob is not having DST which makes that spec shine all the more, and i dont have a full rotation of drums on most fights, as we generally dont have a hunter group, im the only full time hunter for almost a year now, and so its been surv all the time, and ive been in tank group or where ever there is space, which can result in feral druid + shammy using agi in my group, but hardly ever 4 ppl with drums.

i think after seeing ur WWS report, i should give it another try, my gear has improved a lot since we 1st started brutallus (my guild had 7 illidan kills b4 killing brut) but i never went back and re-tested imp hawk spec, i think i liked the 4x rapid fires :P
