Well, I'm a BT/Hyjal Resto shaman (4/5 MH, 3/9 BT) and I'm haste-less. I'm at 2051 healing and 172mp5 while casting with water shield and 33 haste (lol). I just need to know when I should start using all my yellow slots for haste and what mp5 I should be at before that. Also, what should my mana pool be after I take out the 9heal/5int gems for the 10haste gems?

U dont rly need to get haste gear before sunwell..
get around 500~mp5 buffed then worry about healing/haste

As the poster above me said don't overly worry about haste for Bt/ Hyjal but if you wish to min/ max as much as possible go for it, the more haste you have the greater impact on fights your going to make at the cost of having to watch your mana more (pots/ drums/ spriest/ downranking).

Switch to haste yellows asap as point for point it is the current stat to fill up on untill you hit around the 400 (25%) mark (you will only get to this with Sunwell gear).

Drop item bonus's with rubbish stats (+stam etc). A mana pool of around 10k - 10.5k should be achievable and sufficient for what your up against. Look to replace your helm with any of the ones with a meta slot. Check out the Battlemaster Alacrity trinket for an easy 40 haste instead of using the fecundity proc on the Kara trinket.

/Agree with all of those above. Your mana pool will be fine if all you do is replace your Heal/Int gems with haste, and snag the BM Haste trinkit. If you do have mana issues, downrank or request to be in a shadow priest's group.

Another question, is my mp5 low? Should I focus on that for a bit before haste?

you should aim for about 140-150 mp5 unbuffed without water shield. this is enough for every encounter in the game. haste isnt't needed in hyjal/bt, just gear up so you can enter sunwell with about 150 mp5, 2200 +heal and >150 haste.

Replacing your Heal - Int gems with haste will not affect your mp5 much if at all. (Maybe the odd item bonus). But your a shaman and mana should never really be a problem especially with the alchemy trinket.

I try to keep atleast a 10k mana pool, so after that kara ring (the no-stats one) gets replaced, I'm gonna start replacing the heal/int gems. Getting epic haste gems will be hard considering my guild only gives them if you get gear from a boss. [They gave the fuckin SHAMAN healing pants from Kaz'rogal (Best until Sunwell) to a fuckin Pally. happened 2 weeks ago, Im pissed till today.]
