Gazz and other mages (Mana prob)
hey i just wanted to know how u guys do the rotation for dps and for mana pots and gems. since i already got some mana issues with IV dont imagine having CS too, XD, any info you can help me with i will really appreciated .
Mana is so different fight from fight, but one thing is certain. The mana reg of mages is pretty damn broken atm. But, with a shadowpriest you can operate just like any other dps class and maintain a solid dps.
Now you need to ask yourself, does this fight allow me to take a) Destruction pot? b) Flame cap? when do i use my cooldowns to benefit most from these 2 consumeables? Do I have time for a full evocation without loosing too much dps/interruptions? Or... will I push out more dps overall with the useage of mana pot / gems. If that is the case, you'll be wanting to use a mana gem as soon as 3k of your mana has been used up to have the cooldown quick as possible again.
The mage armor is also a very good way to keep the mana from draining too fast, but then again you loose the dps in 3% crit, so its very fight dependant. Most of us use mage armor in p1 M'uru for instance, along with mana gems/pots on cooldown to keep our mana up, and thats with a shadowpriest.
So look through the fight, see what you have time to do and not to do and simply add one consumeable/armor at a time.

The mana issue as a mage is totally dependant of the fight you're on.
I'll take swp as an example :
- Kaeclgos : heavy decursing and movement fight so your dps rotation and your debuffs on the target is quite fucked and doesn't make your mana at its best. However, just taking potion and mana gem early and on cooldown is enough, can even save some hp cooldown for bad moments.
- Brutalus : will be totally depending of the dps your shadowpriest is providing, but most of the time destruction pot and flamecap are usable, perhaps a mana potion in the end to be sure not to run out of mana under 20%.
- Felmyst : mana gem and potion on every cooldown, evocation, mana tide, etc.
- Twins : not really any problem
- M'uru : depend on your job, at my door I had to use mana cooldowns and even mage armor, sometimes ssc trinket.
- KJ : The revigorating breath from the dragon helps alot.
