I decided to open up a thread here since i'm getting a bit upset with some things about this 2v2 combo. I'm the mage and i play next to a IRL friend, rogue. we started playing together this season (3rd) and the highest rating we got was 2085 i think. its a very fun combo to play but its definitly not a viable one. some moments we just pwn every teams, and other times we get pwnd consecutivly. Is this combo condempt to NEED the appearence of some setups that we easily kill, to be effective ? any tip from someone above me ? Need serious help :)

Pardon me if I'm wrong, but is 2k+ now considered "not viable"? Or are you seriously aiming for the top of your Battlegroup?

Maybe you should say, against which setup you got the bigges problems.

If you sometimes just loose, you're maybe just not that good.

But normally you should be able to beat almost everyone because you dont really got a lot of anti setups.

I play the same setup, its completely viable but you have hard times against healer/lock and healer/rogue combo's. The rest is pretty much a cake walk if played properly.

yes, lock + healer and rogue + healer.

lock + priest is easy, lock + druid - gets impossible if they can play

rogue + healer = lose most of the time

and yes i aim for top

hunter + healer is crap aswell

I am playing Rogue Mage in Cyclone (EU) BG to first off we have horrible queue's and we have the same problems as you face we are currently down to 2000 rating but we have had 2150 so far.

Our problem teams: Lock + Druid and Lock + Pala mostly

Rogue + Healer depends alot we mostly get to win them

About everyweek me and my mage get about atleast 50 rating per week but then sometimes on some week we meet Druid Lock 10 times in a row... and then we can wave goodbye to our rating.

As you said Druid Lock is kinda counter team vs Rogue Mage if they play good Healthstone Nature swiftness Swiftmend Trinket :S

Advise if you meet lock druid 3 times in a row stop the queue easy as that.

mage-rogue 2v2 arena team? don't think so.

dude, Mage/Rogue you CAN go far with that, just keep constant sheeps, look up Morreh on warcraftmovies.com, best Mage/Rogue video I have yet seen.

Vilden4 is the best mage - rogue combo (Mage PoV) they are at 2200 but there are teams at 2300-2500 with mage rogue combo, it's doable (I hited 2004 mage - rogue yesterday :D!)

i run feral druid rogue on my character and we usualy go around 13-2 each week it can crush the mage rogue combo if played right.

all we do is have the rogue burst the mage until he iceblocks and then we take out rogue with ease then the mage is simple stuff we beat them 90% of the time

Not many double DPS teams are 2200+
Mage rogue mostly due to its counters, all bout luck of the Q.
