New GomTV Star League Start!
GOM TV presents another StarCraft league following its own GomTV Star Invitational. Averatec-Intel Classic 2008 Season 1 will run for 19 weeks from April 6th, 2008.
Unlike most of the other StarCraft leagues, there will be no preliminary matches; all matches are considered as a part of the knockout tournament.
Before the official launch, there will be a contest between four best StarCraft players to win the first prize which has 10 million won cash award. Four contestants include
Samsung Electronics stork (KeSPA rank #2), KTF Flash (4), Wemade Mind (5), CJ sAviOr (6). This contest will have a tournament format. The semifinals will include stork vs
Mind and Flash vs sAviOr (best-of-three). The finals will be a best-of-five competition.
Averatec-Intel Classic 2008 Season 1 will be launched at 6PM on April 13th, Korea Standard Time (GMT + 9). The schedules are planned to be released on April 8th.
As was the case with GomTV Star Invitational which was enjoyed by people from 180 countries, Averatec-Intel Classic 2008 will be also broadcast live in English. Games
can be watched live on the English homepage (http://www.gomtv.net) and previous games are also provided as Video-on-Demand.
