Update on the patch

"Warcraft III Patch Update
In my opinion, the Warcraft III community has been extremely patient in waiting for the new patch, and of course this patience is much appreciated. Although, the patch does not seem like it will be out by the end of the year, I will be making sure this Warcraft III patch will be my first priority for 2008, above all other projects including StarCraft II. I too, am very disappointed that the patch will not be out this year.
As another update, the melee map contest winners will be announced in late January.
Expect another update for the patch in the first week of January."
So... no patch this year t.t

There is no point in waiting for the new patch.
Before its release people constantly complain "why isn't it out yet?" or "we desperately need it!"
After its release "This patch sucked. When is the next one coming out?"
And thus, the cycle repeats.
I honestly stopped caring about patches. The only things they seem to "effectively" fix are hacks/exploits (some fixes have been tardy). Besides that I don't hope for much.
Neither should you.

Usually once you see the "soon" word from blizzard, it means a couple of month. The patch is not going to be released until March or April :(((
