WCG or ESWC?

Which tournament do you like the most to spectate (WCG, ESWC, PGL, NSL etc etc...)? And which one do you think is the most prestigious?

Feel free to explain why, tell us a story, complain, whine, flame, whatever ^^

And it would be the best if some uberpros could come here and waste 2 minutes to tell us poor anonymous lowskills which one is the best to participate in xD

I love participating in Zotac Cup

PGL is hardest to win, yes. But WCG beats all in terms of prestige. After all it's sponsored by Samsung and comes from the motherland of esports. It's the only true World Championship imo. And it's not like it's "easy" to win.

And if I wrote a thread about garlick, would you still be able to flame ex 4K-members?

Grubby smells like it, Fury looks like it, Zeus plays like it and Tod has it in his face.

and tyson inspired it

is it only about individual tournaments or also team tourneys? If team too, i'd clearly vote for WC3L! Else i'd go with ESWC!

only WCG has imho the world championship feeling, but pgl is harder to win

well i already said it in another thread WCG is the most prestigious for me and i also like the tournament system ... no double eliminiation just a normal K.O round after the groupstage like it is in many real championships of other sports so the real tournament start is the k.o round because in this round every player is pretty good and also this system makes it very hard to win because you can't afford mistakes if you lost you are out! and it's the first international esports tournament I ever watched so it's always something special for me :P

tournaments i really like to watch are the tournaments of blizzard ... i don't know exactly why but i simply like them =) maybe because blizzard tournaments always have english/german shoutcasts and wtv

WCG is clearly the most prestigious , PGL season 1 was probably the taughest tournament , it lasted like 2 weeks , and so many matches

ESWC >>> WCG , especially last year.
WCG 07 was so bad : VISA problems , no sucktv , lol ad website , 2 persons watching wc3 finals...etc

No sucktv is not a waste imo, it prevents from getting angry and is pretty much the same since it would bug if it was there to stream.

ESWC ofc

i really enjoyed to follow weg masters 2006. there were great players, like moon, tod, grubby, zacard, sweet, gostop, xioat and sky.
furthermore there were a lot of good coverages from severel pages such a readmore.de or wcreplays.com with a lot of videos and galeries.
additionally the shoutcast and stream was awesome, jaczie did a great job and i stayed up till 6 o`clock in the morning to follow the games =)
it was also very emotional when zacard cried after losing to sky and tod tried to console him.
sky also celebrated his birthday on the stage with a creamcake... grubby also won against moon for the first time and jumped on his table^^

so thats why WEG masters 2006 was the best one for me :)

I like ESWC because usually they hold it in Europe (france) so it's easy for me to come and be part of it. ^^. ESWC 2007 was well organized and i liked it.

weg 20006 was awesome :), i like last years pgl and wcg as well :) where creo proved mlw stew and friends and all asians whos the best :)
+1 thumbs Thumb Down Thumb Up
WCG is the best tournament imo.
WEG second
ESWC third.
BWWI, Blizzcon fourth
China tours last :P
-1 thumbs Thumb Down Thumb Up
coverage sucks @ asian tournaments..so ESWC is the best tour to spectate!!

eswc suck wcg ..

gruby x)

Wegmasters was nicest so far, but i guess i like ESWC more than wcg, better coverage from the event

WCG >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ESWC

ESWC sux, no sponsors and big license price so many countries (including mine) are not participating.
+0 thumbs Thumb Down Thumb Up
ESWC, because 1. It's french
2. FFS CAROM 3D LOL
+0 thumbs Thumb Down Thumb Up
nah seriously, coverage, wcg 2007 sux, Grubby vs Fov @GW in 2006, ESWC had some sponsors problem (Nvidia left them last year) but they cameback now.

By the way, this year will be very significant to know which is the best I guess. WCG and ESWC are both in "good shape".

World Cyber Games.

ESWC has stupid rules like only 1 rts and they also promote some shitgames.

PGL most prestigious?

haha, but well i remember grubby placed 5th in pgl season 1 :)

and well, the groupstage system in pgl was kinda since creo faced sky (the winner of the whole tour ) twice and didnt even had the chance to prove himself against infi (whom he would have a really good chance against at that time)
+1 thumbs Thumb Down Thumb Up
but hardest to win it is, thats true

mlw/disco/sentiment style

wcg and eswc both suck, moon-god wasn't there so the level of competition dropped 10000%, everyone who played are noobs thus "nubby" had a field day, if moon-god went he would totally pwn "nubby" and win, giving wcg/eswc a "prestigious" name. Whichever tournament moon-god has won is the most prestigious.

mlw/disco/sentiment style off

the kode5 stops in countries you might not see as an esports-country should help to develop or even create an esports-szene in these countries. kode5`s mission is to make esports more popular around the world.. so these 3232434 stops are not useless, in my opinion the idea behind the kode5 project is great.

a tournament with Creo AND Grubby in the top3? please...
