I can speak from experience. A few years ago (2002) I tried to become a pro quake3 player. I was in year 10 (2nd year of high school @14 years) I started practicing hardout every day. Eventually I got to div2 and the practice was paying off, so I practiced even harder. After school it would be gaming till 12-2 in the morning, then up at 6am to play vs the ppl from sweden/europe. This went on and on for a few years till i got to yr12 and decided i wanted to study engineering at uni, but i wasn't smart enough, so that year i failed ma exams, and i quit gaming coz i wanst good enough the quake scene had died, and now i have to repair all those lost hours when i should have been studying, I'm only just beginning to get disciplined at uni and its really hard but im just glad i pulled out in time, anyway naniwa and others, dun make the same mistake as i did. ps i also nearly got kicked out
