Moon has 200 games at the most after one month, that's nothing compared to what other pros have who are also still actively playing wc3. Sucks so hard. He usually skipped the low money tournaments, now he's not playing anything anymore...
And there are enough people (including me) that don't see what supposed to be great about Sc2. I can't judge from the playing side, but watching it is so ridiculously lame, just like the cheese strategies and the macro. No micro involved whatsoever.

Agreed!!! I just despise the way people get all crazy about SC2. W3 is just far better when it comes to having intense moments and brain usage. It is just sad how the game gets forgotten in a flash after all those years just because of the some idiotic, long-waited game that did not even reached the standards.
The only reason why the game is so popular is because it has been anticipated for so long. No other reason involved. And SC2 would never be as innovative as SC1 and WC3. Both of these games deserve full respect for what they contributed to the RTS world. SC2 only lives because of its name, and if it didn't, then it would have been just another ordinary game.

Have you at least tried the game? It's simply the next step in RTS game. Just like War3 was ahead of BW in terms of unit control, ressource management, map control, strategic diversity.
And maybe that's just my opinion but not having to creep really widens the strategic field. I mean like it or not, the creeping system really contributed a lot to the plunge into monotony of war3 the last 3 years or so. And I'm not even talking about the imbalance issues that creep-items raised...
And about the watching side, it's a RTS: enjoying to watch it requires a certain knowledge of every unit and game mechanics. I can easily understand that you get bored if you don't know what's going on. Just like any sport... Plus now since it's still the early stage of the game evolution, new ideas pop out every tournament. I've watched a Flash replay yesterday that blew my mind. How long since it last happened in a war3 replay?
Plus every gaming organisation is recruiting teams, helding tournaments AND streaming them... No one will ever forget war3 but it's time to move on.
Oh and B.net 2.0 is just :)
And btw MLW or MostWantedLover or whatever acc you're on nowadays, I'm sure you'll be glad to know that Freedom (yes, Freedom.Werra) is in hardcore-beta mode raping the shit out of everyone on the asian ladder :)
I'm not saying it's bad. I also watched some VODs with cast that made the game interesting at least. Because of that I knew what was going on, and one guy controlling 5 expos was amazing enough. It's not the skill requirements, it's about watchability.
If I compare that to the first wc3 cast I listened... still makes me shiver, Khaldor talking like a waterfall and really going crazy over crazy moves and situation "Archmage is about to go down, Archmage WILL go down, Archmage goes DOWN, ARCHMAGE IS DOWN ARCHMAGE IS DOWN!"
Look at it this way: People always complained Wc3 is so slow because the game only gets started after the hero comes out after 2 minutes, then it's creeping etc. But at least you can chose if, when, where and what to creep, there's always happening something.
Not so in Sc2. All of the games I watched so far are 5 minutes of NOTHING. They expand without creeping or the opponent doing something about it. Then comes a harass that deals damage or not, then 5 minutes of NOTHING.
Then 2 armies clash and gg. Even if there's a harass or skirmish in the meantime, it's like garg harass vs wisp. Nothing really intense, only units moving back and forth over trees/cliffs.

Heheh,MLW is pleased indeed. Anyway, after watching a few vod's of SCII I got interested, but then FunPlayer just ruined my motivation with his comments... He has a way of stupifying things that can make anything sound bad :D Anywho, i got 2 keys recently and I can't even dl the beta since my university SUCKS and blocks pretty much everything, including the blizzard downloader. Is there any other way I can DL it?
As for wc3... No matter how you look at it, it is the best game ever, hands down. Followed closely only by wow in my opinion(hate all you want, but the very creation of WoW was a fucking miracle, skill requirements and e-sport eligibility aside...
About the creeps and items...Just as they contributed to the plounge to monotony, so did they stand as another opportunity for constant innovation. The creep factor also was a great way to break the monotony present in SC, which was parts of the game COMPLETLY focused on economy, with units standing around. WC3 had a constant flow, constant action even in the most boring of games.
The strategies have become a little stagnant- yes. But I can imagine the situation is the same in SC as well? The only crucial difference is that, for some reason I will never ever understand, WC3 tournaments have used a total of 20(or even less?) maps throughout the entire existence of the game, and some of those maps appeared only a very limited number of times.
P.S Space retired....

I've tried it, and heck, I did not like it. It reminds me too much of many other RTS games that are just as good. WC3 was something unique, especially with creeping system and item drop. It a twisted kinda of way it combined PRG and RTS styles in itself. And FunPlayer is absolutely right - sc2 is just boring as hell to watch.
Furthermore the reason why many professional gamers move on to SC2 is because they know that there are some good money that they could win by playing the game. And again - the intense moments in SC2 that make you say OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG are just few.

Sorry bruh ;)
Just try it out and get your own opinion.
Come on guys most of you haven't even tried the game xD
Plus all you talk about is what war3 brought to the RTS world, and we all agree that it was a revolution. I too have followed the scene on those filthy forums for years! But the choice we have now is between war3 in its current shape and SCII. And I'm sorry but the choice is clear for 95% of the beta key owners...
In all fairness we have to thank WoW and the big truck of cash it brings every month to Blizzard.
And don't forget about B.net 2.0 (no lag/hackers and an actual ladder)
And dear god there's no BM :) I mean now I actually like to watch Lucifron's replay ^^
