I've played with a laptop for 3 years now on 2 different laptops. Also play WoW, QL, CS etc on this with perfect FPS. It's fine if you buy a good laptop and i also recommend having a proper keyboard since most laptop ones are really shit for WC3.

It depens on when i am playing but playing on laptop is not that bad except that mine has the freaking fn key in the corner instead of CTRL

The laptop that I am going to get will be more than good for wc3

Is it okay to play on a laptop with an inserted keyboard ? The monitor of the laptop is not really big (15:6 i think)

Yeah, it's much better with another keyboard. Playing with the normal laptop keys is nearly impossible unless you have anorexic fingers.

It's just fine. I've got a sick laptop and use it at home with docking station...the one I have is better than normal pcs. Use an inserted keyboard/mouse and monitor too. My screen is pretty big (17 inch on a laptop) but I plug in a monitor aswell, the Samsung Syncmaster 2253LW is great!

The thing is that I am going to university this fall and I will have to move to another city.Sofia is 500 kms away from my city and you see that having a lot of luggage is not really conventional.

I am still wondering whether to get my PC with me, but if I have to switch my lodge the whole moving process would be - :S

It's a good feeling to have your porn with you, wherever you go )

Well, I'm playing from laptop for 3 years now, for these 3 years i've used 2. Additional keyboard is needed, microing with laptop's keyboard is hard, because of different key-position + the keyboard itself is much smaller. So, the question is about the screen, some laptops have good screens for games and others have horrible. My current notebook is lenovo r61 and I would say that this model is quite for gaming.

I gotta try my fr's laptop and see how it would work - playing wc3 with inserted keyboard cuz I think it might feel little strange :S

I played WC3 on my years' old notebook before and the game ran just fine. I found it weird to play with an external keyboard and the wide screen in the beginning, but I got used to it pretty soon.

This was my point - never take wide-screen notebook for gaming. Playing with additional keyboard isn't really strange and the good thing is, it's better for the eyes since the distance between you and the screen is bigger.

Well, the one here I will probably buy has a 16:9 screen and the guy there told me this was a standard screen for a notebook?

Oh, I now saw that 16:9 is actually wide screen ?! :S !!!!!

yeah but you can get used to widescreen and even laptop keyboard

toa pa stana student4e i laptop4eto i vednaga temite v site-a haha

Lawl, I didnt know this was widescreen :S

You generally have a BIOS option to force keeping aspect ratio or dot-by-dot. But ye in the end, all is smaller... Anyway mate, your notebook is for getting your ass to work primarily ;)

The thing is that I move away from home and I probably wont have my stationary PC with me where I go.That's why its important that the notebook is proper for gaming as well

Most laptops have okay stats for RAM and CPU. I played for 2 years on my laptop that I also used for university. Then I got sick of playing only wc3 and dota and bought a PC because it couldn't handle anything else due to a non-existant graphic card. It just had some on-board chip in it. Dota was lagging, and I had to tune down to low details and 800x600 so it didn't lag in ladder games.

Many gaming laptops have nvidia chips. Problem is it sucks batteries twice as much. I like the Sony SZ / Z / SR, where they have both Intel GMA and nVidia chip, thus you can choose and switch when you need to game or when you're on the go... Anyway for WC3, you need like approximately nothing :).

laptops sucks for gaming ;x

For WC3 u don't need gaming notebook. I run WC3 without missing a single FPS with 1 GB DDR3 and 256 intel 965. Wide-screen at all isn't good for gaming and ofc that u can get used to it, the point is that u have choice, why will you buy wide-screen instead of normal?
hostilepulse, post a link to the notebook u're planning to buy plz.

I dont know even how does that notebook look.I just went to the guy from whom I bought my computer and I told him that I need a laptop, I told him at what I price I want it to be and he gave me an offer. He asked me for the inches and he said "15:6 - thats the standard"

Oh, I found it now.He gave me 3 offers, but he told me that this one was the best price/system capability wise - http://www.hp.most.bg/compaq-610-t5870-15-6-2gb-320-dos-partnumNX550EA.html#

you dont have to play widescreen wc3 when you have widescreen laptop

How to say, the price is reallyyyyy good... so, the notebook isn't rly that great. I'll say that this notebook will suit well someone that likes to spend hours listening to music, watching movies, doing video-conversations ~
But for gaming, I don't think ur experience will be enjoyable with this wide-screen

if you dont have a good tv to watch movies series etc from then id suggest widescreen you dont have to play in widescreen you can just change it I do it with my benq, actually I dont have to switch it its automatic, if the laptop is just for schoolwork & wc3 then obviously you dont need widescreen

I am not sure what I will buy yet.I will look for some other models and then decide what to get

Vikatikki, actually wide screen is the most popular type of screens for laptops. They make them wide-screen so the shape of the entire notebook is better, by better I mean smaller and more compact. Well, obviously a smaller doesnt mean better in terms of productivity. So, my point is that u can get wide screen and ofc resize wc3, but you can't say by doing this your wide-screen doesn't matter anymore and the game feels like playing @ normal screen. I have wide screen and normal screen laptop, in fact I prefer watching movies and so on @ the standart screen as well, it's much better. By good TV, I will say at least 32" so comparing a 15.4" notebook's screen to good TVs ...
hostilepulse, I reccomend you to look for Asus or Lenovo ThinkPad(these are highly recommended). Better give some $$ more and have something that will work perfect for years, then some low-class notebook.

Not really.I've been playing wc3 on my lap top,and my lap top only for the past 2 years. When you get used to it,playing on a regular keyboard becomes quite tricky if not even impossible.

Well, this doesnt change the fact that additional keyboard is more comfortable, you don't even have numpad on your notebook after all. You can get used to everything and there's nothing impossible, but the point is, what is better.

I have inventory on my mouse so i dont need numpad

its just hella annoying to play on my mac.

wc3 isn't shitty old game ~

Wc3 might be old, But it's anything else than Shitty. Warcraft 3 is probl one of the best games ever made
