thx !!

Yes, Freedom was handled as one of the most talented players but he ended his wc3 career to become a small light in sc. He was on kinda same lvl moon was despite being some years younger.

Hmm same lvl as Moon, that might be a little bit of a stretch

About Freedom's change to sc.

Also read Zerters prophetic comment on wc3:
3 years ago:
WC3 Dying ^^.... Where the hell is WC3 dying? In China where 90.000 people spectate the finals of a league? In Germany where a Korean went for progaming? Globally where there are more leagues and tournaments every day? Proffesionally where there are more and more big money teams every few months? On Battle.Net where there usually are between 60.000 and 80.000 people online?

There is a huge rise in the money to be won every year, more paid gamers every year, more people every year, WC3 wont die until there is a blizzard RTS to replace it and it will keep growing until that moment.

Right now:
55393 users playing WC3: TFT
27714 users playing SC:BW

did he win something else than this one tournament ? or was he the same like who ... a lucky one-tournament-wonder ? if so ... what a huge fuss for nothing xD

FreeDom won 2004 WCG Korea, beating both Moon & Zad iirc , and he was supposed to win MBC PL5 too.

No, at the time it was prob moon's toughest challenge

haha. Please show me one korean wc3 qualification that wasn't tougher than grand final especially at a time where korean skill was not just from another country but from another star.

u still dont get it dont u? Why you try to discuss a topic which you dont have knowledge of? (WC3 scene in 2004)
The stupid "xD" dont make u look any smarter here.

Explanation:

FreeDom was dragged out of Prime League Season 5, because of the Map scandal, which involved the Orc player Romeo who was supposed to get pushed to the Final, as he won FreeDom at Semi finals on Rigged Maps, which resulted the former MBC admin (who supported Romeo) getting thrown out of the crew. Shortly after that FreeDom gave a note to his fans that he will leave WC3 completely because he was deeply disappointed by the lack of professionalsm. Though it might look a bit subjective, his emotions caused this move, which for his fans was really sad. And in my oppinion, caused the biggest wc3 talent EVER (15 yrs old) to call it quit on a bright bright future, with many trophys and money in the making. Yes, people are pretty naive at that young age, although in this case, it was simply too sad.

So you try to come up with the WCG argument, I will come up with the ESWC argument. Why do always Koreans win ESWC, huh?

Kinda strange too. Some things are just the way they are. But this year I really believe it will be a Korean winning WCG.

You can surely compare players like DayFly, Showtime, ElkY, Swain and even FreeDom to the great ones of today. In fact some of them were the reason of WC3 Pro Gaming as it is today, EVEN if their careers were much shorter.

Ahh, Iam getting nostalgic again. Take this b*tches. (Where was Grubby there?)

More juice.

Elky, the player who played in both OGN Warcraft 3 and OGN Starleague in SC at the same time (!) and finished top 4 in both simultaneosly, losing to Medusa for 2nd place and to Boxer and Yellow for 4th place.

He was / is the french Gosu Number 1 and was ToDs and FaTCs greatest idol. Nowadays Elky is extremely successful in Poker and should be a Multi Millionair by now.

I think he was banned once because admins thought it was a bot not a player

nice,i luv/ed to watch that dude! too bad he isnt anymore in war3!

Oh, ye btw the older woman in the crowd is FreeDoms mommy, hehe.
And the younger girl in the crowd they show at some scene was Moons girlfriend during that time!

thanks for the vods!

lol game4, even though Moon lost, this must be the earliest documented use of the telestaff tp fake and a huntress denying a glaive thrower.

No edit or delete in the forums? Didn't realize that until now...

I do remember Freedom loosing to Philbot on TM at wcg, while philbot lost lvl3 DK to creep :)

small light in sc? he passed trough survivor tournament in his early career which is an amazing achievement then when he was gettin better and better he went to army or sumthin like that

"...ue to the fact that it was always Night Elf versus Night Elf match-ups in the finals..."
:D

I asked for it^^
ty dude

Freedom.werra's not that great during his prime (at least not around Moon's), he just always manage to beat moon for some unknown reasons (playstyle maybe). just like how evenstar used to lose against crappy amateur players but managed to beat 90% of the Korean gosus

sry but thats bs. He had constantly beat the best Koreans during that time, I hardly saw anyone more consistent except Moon and maybe Sweet.

Is he still playing sc?

FreeDom participated in far less tournaments than others like Zacard or Sweet, if u look closer.
I didnt say FreeDom was among the most accomplish players, he surely isnt, but how could he?
FreeDom got hardly the chance to show his talent on International scene, except WCG which was his first major international tour being 15 years old, so he was nervous and didnt do so well, even though he won WCG Korea.
His Ladder account at that time "silveryoung" was among 2 or 3 best back when Ladder still said a lot, especially on Kalimdor.

Big thanks for all the VODs, keeping me entertained on holiday :p Never seen most of them before since i started WC3 in 05 (seen Moon-Freedom games though). Just wanted to point out how hilarious showtime and elky both look in the Ongame match. So funny.

I remember the ladder... the race to lvl50, the legendary accounts (Phoenix_ReMinD, HoldOn, apm70(maphacks ^^), CantChat.), the rumors... every now and then a top replay was leaked and it got overhyped on every replay site... Back then every thing was simple and pure...

apm70 only maphacks for RoC , not after ...

Sure, things were a lot better in the past. People were fascinated if a new Korean player entered WC3L, and got more respect for the Gosus. Nowadays Gosus get flamed if they dont win the games they were supposed to.
The scene is kind of worn out, at its prime it was the most beautiful place to spend time at.

his account in march 05. he had the best stats on the freaking server ( better than sky, suho and any other )

You mean SoJu, not Suho :D

I think suhO was high ranked as well but I don't remember it. At that time, every progamer played bnet so you can name any.
enjoy tis one

this don(t)key(now)_ guy is a retard.

Freedom.Werra ended his career due to the MBC PL5 scandal, not his decline of skill

60 year old ppl watching wc3....dear god :D
