i just got my very first wc3 account and have been playing for 3 days now. i have watched a lot of replays and such before, and it looks realy easy. but its not :)

so i wonder what tips and tricks and keybinds you use to make ur micro easier. and also if there is a way to know easier when ur houses are ready built. i some how always forget to upgrade my city and when i do im way behind and often forget borrows ( i play orc )

yeah but with the key bindings then? i dont think you use your mouseclicker and click on the raider that you want to use ensnare with and i dont think you use your mouse to target ypur whole army? i bet you have them on a key ? which one? i have my main house on 5, barrak on 4, beastery on 3, and my whole army on 1 and 2. and i have problems useing my abilities. like i have to click frist on 1 then on the raider i want and then e.

do you get what i mean?

u bind a group of raider then select it and click e

1=melee units +heros
2= raider
3=spirit walker
4=unit producing buildings
5=main
6=altar
7=shop
as an example of simple orc bindings! have fun!

- With TAB you can switch to the next subgroup of all selected units
So if you have let's say a hero and raiders in group 1. You press 1, now your hero is selected. Now just press TAB and the next group will be selected. So t's 1-TAB-e-"left click on target.".

- F1-F3 is a quick key to select your heroes
- you could change the unit's hotkeys to Q W E R if that's easier for you. There are a few tools for that, or you can manually change it in the Customkeys.txt-file

- for "when to build what" simply watch replays of your race and train the order a few times.

study more reps of the race you want to get improved with then practice, practice and more practice. GL HF.

jsut thaught to stop by if freakarn is beeing misunderstood

the 1 - 9 the other ppl are telling u are just control groups
if u are talking about key binndings then there are 2 kinds
the preset keybinds or u can get a little thingie called customkeys where u can rearange the hotkeys as u please so u have the most important ones bunched up.
like a-attack
w-move
q-windwalk
e-ensnare
s-hex
d-disenchant
r-spirit link
anyways u should arange ur keys as u please and not by any means copy what i just wrote cause it's proabbly useless (i don't play orc - i mean i do paly orcs also, the same as other races just not with custom keys)

1. Heroes + Fiends or Ghouls
2.Air
3.Scout , latter Catas - if i have them, and if i dont have catas its shade with wich im looking for expos
4. Aco
5. Altar
6. Crypt
7. in start main - latter slaughterhouse or boneyard
8. nerubean tower
9. dunno :D sometimes inbase ghouls, coz i never press on 9 and 0 :D

q - coil, burrow, dispell, nova etc.
w - second skills for heroes, ehh if i tell all my skills and hotkeys that consists all these letters - qwertyasdfgzxcv then it will take long for all races :D

btw u must make ur keys, and groups, urself, bcoz i tried other players groups and keys, i couldnt just get used to them :O
