kind of a sad moment for SK, he and SoJu are still owning in 2on2 and he seems motivated to train a lot. But recently he didnt play as good as he used to do in the past.

he didnt achieve absolutely anything in 2008 , so a good decision by SK.I have never liked him anyway.He came to SK as a merc and was a kicked as one

topic: Was obvious Remind would be one of the people to go, he had worse results than even Soju lately. They might even keep violet over him because he's young and thus cheap.
And of course he's Orc and there's nothing to win for elfs these days, except Zotac cups.

they wanna make the team smaller (cheaper) so i dont think they will get another player, and if they should, it won't be someone like ToD ;)

lol , its not just about that.Teams receive a percent of each player's prize money won , so by adding successive players teams not only get more money from their prizes but they can increase their popularity ---> more sponsors etc.Remind was not a successful player anymore so there was no point in keeping him.E.g. - Look WE , all their players are doing well , they win prizes , they are popular so thats why they keep their squad

So it wont be that much fo a suprise if they add Tod

About WE,who win prizes except for Sky & Infi ? Lyn alone earns much more than all WE players combine.The thing about WE is that they receive much less salary than the koreans (life cost in China is low,so it's ok for them) ,and wc3 is popular in China. Thats why WE can afford to keep a big squad.

and can you tell me why then MYM has a complete squad as well , fnatic ? Because life in Korea is cheap as well? And just cuz Lyn has a good year , doesnt mean that he will earn that much money next year as well , acually I dont think that he will win even 1/2.And for WE , except Infi and Sky , TeD has won 20K for 2008 , which is far from little

MYM has the strongest financial backup,no surprise they can keep 5 players (but they will make a change soon I believe) ,and Im sure that Fnatic players dont demand as much as the like of SK players (5 Fnatic players' salary may equal to 3 or 2 SK/MYM players)

yeah, as for MYM; they just have a shitload of money, and i dont think luci/susi/soccer get as much as grubby and moon do, in fnatic i think that only FoCuS and Shy are "expensive" + they won't kick anyone because they are together for such a long time and fnatic is not one of the teams that doesnt care about that;

I think SK will keep Reign and Lyn. Soju probably left SK too though he hadnt the chance too reveal it in an interview ;P

Crow has been asking questions like "how do you feel about teams like SK and MYM dropping wc3 players" in his interviews. Which might hint that MYM are going to get rid of some of their players as well.

Will be interesting to see what will happen. Like if SK is to kick more players who is it going to be. Not Lyn for sure, ReiGn has lately won almost all the games he has played and has started to get invitations to tournaments. SoJu just won NGTV s2 and could win so much more. I don't think they'll kick Miou either because of the German scene. And if they are going to kick Violet why did they get him in the first place, just some months ago?

ReMinD hasnt done anything in 2008.He didnt achieve any result that is worth of mentioning.
Having in tought that hes pretty expensive,why should they keep him?

Remind is actually one of the more mannered and better players in the scene and the hostility here towards him is totally not justified. Even though he didn't achieve a lot of top3 finishes last year, he could always compete with the best. And you could see him really practising a lot recently.

manner is nothing you can mention positive imo, because 95% of the pros are actually very mannered in the public. to be unmannered might be a argument against someone, but those cases are rare compared to cases where player seem to be really mannered.

in the end it all comes down to skill, and you have to agree that remind didnt show what he is capable of in 2008, and that speaks against him in my opinion because it hints at lack of practice due to whatever reason. that he is practicing hard near the end of the year or now doesnt make up for that in my opinion, because its his work, he has to do it.

There's no hostility towards Remind here, we're just summing up hard facts. Fact is he didn't achieve anything in tournaments this year.

Remind is one of my favorite players, he's the strategy master of this game. But if he himself says he's got other stuff on his mind (Carmac interview) then he's the logical choice to leave the team.

I havent said that hes not a good player,and especially mannered and nice guy...thats true,no doubt about it...
But lets be fair:he hasnt achieved anything in 2008...thats all...

Still its sad to see the best 2on2 team breakup, remind+soju barely lost to anyone @wc3 finals

it might be true that remind and soccer didnt win that much solo achivements this season but if we look at the team achivements is remind and soccer ranked as 3th and 4th place on the player statestic this season(wc3l ofc). without them it would might be a wc3l final without either sk or mym

i agree, i dont think sk would be in wc3l playoffs if it wasnt for remind, winning almost all of their 2v2s and taking out high profile names like tod and grubby.

Guys remind yourselves that for now the Wc3 scene is moving towards single player tournaments..no long team tournamen..look at WC3L and NGONE...all dropping teams formats in favour of singles..it's due to this scene and the global recession that players such as Remind are sacrificed

yea, but that doesnt mean that 2v2 matches will be gone. the new formats still have 2v2 matches.
i think it would have been a much better decision to keep remind soju and lyn. lyn for singles, remind and soju for 2v2, and swapping between remind and soju for seed 2.

you have a point there ...but still keeping him purely for 2v2s is not that viable considering how many 2v2s tournaments there are =/

wc3l is not a single player tournament. thers still 5 matches. 2 sets of 1v1 and 1 set of 2v2.

MYM would still have every chance to take out this clanwar despite only using/having 2 players..

i think it would have been a better idea to just adjust the rules so that a each player 'can' play up to 2 solo matches each clanwar, but doesnt have to..

no, not at all, we have already seen 2 player owning the old wc3l-system including finals, and that not only once. i mean we have already seen 3 player winning wc3l with a 4player-minimum :P but i think a bigger roster should give you some kind of advantage, though its not that big.
but it would be much better for the viewers!

thats what exactly what i meant, your free to choose to seed up to 4 different player in the 1on1's, or 3 or only 2. i just gave an example of how it could look like, and our example only differs in the fact that you use 4 different players and i use three :P switch soju or reign with lyn and its the same. sorry that i didnt express it clearly enough in the first place.

but the way it is now it is pretty boring imo. everyone complains(even baschi himself!) that we see the same players too often, and what he did is enforce that even more.

its ok.. i understood what you meant the first time, the only reason i said it again with a slightly different example was to try to elaborate on it to FunPlayer, to show how it may still be advantageous to have more than 2 players, but still allowing a 2-player roster to be competitive..
