Awesome NGL Finals
I gotta say this NGL Finals is my most enjoyable tournament in 2008. Definitely worth waiting half a year for this.
First of all, the media coverage is great, smooth stream with awesome shoutcast by Rotti (as usual) and Tosspot (he outshined Rotti tbh). And we still got WTV & GGTV,thats cool.
Secondly, all matches were so intense, nail bitting with many zomg/wtf moments and crazy games.Even leagues like ESWC or WCG did not make me half that interested.I was hyped, heartbreaking, surprised etc at the same time.(Just inda sad that SK & ReiGn did not make it)
Grand opening,grand closing.GG
btw this is a good read about this ngl :http://www.mymym.com/en/coverage/545/6.html

y great finals and rotti + tosspot are so funny:)
Definitely. You could see that these teams are close to the same level as one another. All matches were very close 4-3 mTw vs. MYM, 4-3 SK.vs mTw, 4-3 mTw vs. MYM, 4-2 mTw vs. SK and 4-2 mTw vs. SK which made it very exciting.
Unlike last season where the 2 obvious top teams were SK and MYM.

Awesome event, one of the last sadly... one thing i didnt like was the absence of human players!
true! SK should hire Bonecracker>>WhO!! :P
Orc wins too much imo.
Was great to see Lyn lose on LT vs FoV though.
That made me laugh xD

yeah very nice event...with many memorable match...Fov-Lyn, Grubby-Winners, Reign-Who, Susi-Check
best event in 2008, sad that the g7 fags hates entertaining team leagues with amazing coverage and instead wants solo tournaments with craptastic coverage.
I think you kinda missed the point here. It's not that G7 teams WANT ngl/wc3l to die, it's just they can't afford to maintain teams in those old formats. It's quite funny you should mention that on a site like SK, which is one of the few teams (with WE and MYM) to actually maintain a full roster... at least for now.
wont last for long i guess and besides the g7 teams are sort of killing the amateur scene of wc3
edit: it was meant for zechs, not for me :(

I didn't think tosspot and rotti worked that well together (individually they're both great, but you could tell they didn't work together much, if at all, before this). But never mind that, the games were just fantastic. Nothing much to add to what others have said really, just a great finals!
We've worked together quite a lot previously but Rotterdam is growing with each event from being the expert analyst to becoming the lead commentator. Considering he's done maybe 5 or 6 events? His growth is just phenomenal, he is now in control of the cast and oozing out information and insight into the players strategy whilst also getting really excited. Within a couple more events Rotterdam will be the tasteless of sc or djwheat of quake that WC3 is crying out for.
I hope you're right. The cast was definitely listenable, unlike most WC3 commentators.
Great coverage. Great games.
i actually thought tosspot and me worked much better than we did before, gave over just in time for the fights so i can let tosspot do what he's best at, commentating the fights with his lovely british voice :D and i talk most of the time out side of that, had the feeling it went really well and the way we timed the switchover went much better than previous casts, just on the first day we talked trough eachother a few times but all in all i think it was the best cast i did so far in terms of no silences/co-operation and I had quite some fun as well ;D
Agree on the topic btw, awesome finals, great games, sad we're gonna have to miss this

undeads played very well, what to say, good job ngl-one... Team vs. team is the most interesting thing to watch nowadays. Too bad this cant happen anymore.
Cast was definitely 11/10.
Just great. Loved it on Susi vs Check XD

was really nice to watch other players managing to win against orcs, despite the imbalance, even uds did, well maybe except the last match in the whole tournament, where whO 3-0'd sk with the blademaster :(
rotti btw, which game did u save as "BEST GAME EVER" ? :p

couldnt agree more rotti, the cast was fucking amazing and tosspot really did really good
will be great
Rotti and Tosspot made a fantastic job.I loved Rotti at WCG already, hes so amusing and funny,I remember he once said, when Moon saved his hero without using TP,thats the reason why is Moon far better player than he is.And on this event Rotti grew into a even better shoutcaster.Good job, mate.RDAM FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!
he didn't save his hero, he surrounded the opponents hero without using entangle so he could use it to cancel the staff to teleportation of his opponent.
Yeah,I watched that shoutcast couple of minutes ago,it was vs Grubby on TM @WCG...you are right, thnx for correcting me mate...XDD
On the topic of Rotti and TosspoT' casting, I thought it went great. I used to dislike Rotti' casting, but hes grown into a fine shoutcaster, he provides the insight I like. A lot of the experts just talk about useless stuff and then miss the action.
Rotti however explains whats happening, and why the player is doing it. And when mistakes are made, he points them out. Far too often I have seen SC or CS matches where the casters wont pick out players mistakes or say why a player did or didn't do something, so I am left wondering whether it's the player(s) or the caster that is messing up.
As well, TosspoT and Rotti do a remarkable job together, they flow better than I have ever seen two casters flow, since I watched a GGL cast by djWHEAT in like '03.
