WEM System

Can someone explain me this ...., well I dont want to use bad words, bullshit system?

Bo1... and only one game per day? What the fuck must be go wrong to have such ideas for a big tournament? Bo5 and only one game per day would be funny and also nice to watch but Bo1 and only one game per day... made my day...

1 game? i thought 4 games were played so far ;x

four maps.....this is are many amazing lol

agree , completely ridiculous...

well its observer friendly.. one game after another on videostream, but for the players it must be boring.

Noobs, this system is oldschool.

Bo1 in groupstage only sucks if the whole groupstage is played on one day. But the WEM/WEG system has always been the most competitive. Back in Korean leagues the players got the map and their opponent like 1 week before the match. Guess why Moon was unbeatable back then.

Anyway, MGC bo1 system - no
WEM bo1 system - yes

Group stage's BO1.
And 4 games today.

Yes but I mean for every player only one game per day this is.... and Bo1 dont say anything thats another problem. Maybe its observer friendly but 4 games are fast played in Bo1 and takes maybe 1-2 hours of a day, so I would prefer more matches and maybe a WTV Stream.

Bo3 group stage -> double or single elim -> winner

Why do asian tournaments insist on using these ridiculous formats? Does it make it more exciting? Do people tune in to watch it because of it? No. We watch beause we want to see the best WC3 players compete and see who is best. Bo1 leaves far too much of the game to chance. I'd much rather see 2 games a day, bo3, than 4 games bo1 and i don't think i'm alone.

bo1 is okay to give weaker players like grubby a chance. Of 100 games he could win one game against moon so why not try it ( ofc with reversed races).

bo1 is traditional system in Korean league. It may be bored for us spectators but as for the tournament,no.You get a long time to prepare for one pre-announced map,one pre-announced opponent, therefore the game should be played in the highest level. That system suits Moon best, who used to ruled in Korean leagues back in the days.

thats the problem.Preparing a particular one-time strategy on a single map and winning doesnt mean u played better , thats why the best option is bo3 so it proves how well you are prepared overall. Not that u just surprise someone , win and no rematch then

I didnt explain myself really well , but i hope u get it

[x] bo5 all the way!

Even a series of bo7 would not tell you who is the better player here,so many factors matter here. So why not enjoying this well-prepared and nicely-played bo1 match? If you really see all the 4 games today, you will come to the conclusion: It's awesome!

Back in the old times the smarter player used to win, not the one who played the "standart" strategy the best. So it would be fun to see some one-time-only strats, insted of the usual bullshit.

Bo5 and 3-5 times "towers and tanks" on different maps... or whatever...

well they dont play bo1 for the whole tournament, you will see bo3 & bo5 later between the best players

if you guys have actually read any interview from the players you would know that the maps are randomly drawn shortly before the match so there is no such thing as one week's of preparation before matches

If TOE drops in a bo1 that guy can win the game just from an item drop. In bo3, it gives him an advantage but it's very unlikely he gets another TOE in g2 and g3. That's the biggest problem with bo1 (not just TOE, but item drops in general, BM crits, DH misses etc. etc.).
