Does anyone else think PGL is going too far overboard with its tournament format? What's wrong with group stage, double elim? It's simple, it's easy to follow, and the best player wins. To see all the different matches on SK you have to click back and forth between five different sets of games. With a double elim it's all on a single page - nice, clean, efficient.

I suppose it's better than the tournaments where fans vote for players to be revived, but really... overcomplicating the system doesn't make an event more interesting, it just makes it awkward. Or have i completely missed the boat here? What do you guys think?

Everything else just confuses the hell out of me.

best tour immo, easy too understand + fpviews + best players (too bad that some are missing this time, like infi/ted and the other sk players. :( )

I think its nice and refreshing to see a tournament in a new format.

i like it, also i think for the people that are already used to pgl format, it's quite easy to follow, they've been using this system more than once. The bad thing about PGL is replays get released MONTHS later, so you have to watch the game in x1 and in pplive ;/

It's a sexy system, and the more I watch it the more i like it, and with the new maps. I really got hooked. PGL for pres!

IQ is a single item - a 'collective noun'. Each individual person can only have one, but that IQ can have a different rating of course but these are IQ points, not IQ's. I was being somewhat pedantic considering the poster isn't a native speaker but hey, there was no need to insult me.

One good thing about this format is that it eliminates luck factor way more thoroughly than normal group stage and double elimination. If you had watched PGL before you would know.

the more complicated the system is, the more games they can get out of the prize money. they do these tournaments mostly to entertain the chinese audience and i don't think many care about the system if the games are "WoW"

watching wow is like watching paint dry.

I like watching PvP movies and raid movies.
Only well edited ones though, with good music.

WoW movies are either really good, or really poor. In my opinion.

its easy once you understand the 9th revival super stage death showdown match which can happen only when the planets are aligned and the colour of the moon on that day is blood red and if player x gets more than 30% votes than player y, BUT can't get more than 35%

Actually I was out of the city for 2 days and I can`t even understand what is fucking going around , so many mathes , some fucking complicated system.I totaly agree with you , this system makes the tournament very hard to follow + there is no other stream except pplive...

I actually quite like the stream, if they had more than like 3 adverts. It would be nice with english commentators too, i wonder if they have any jobs going :x

The format it totally and actually also interesting but the coverage somehow doesn't offer a good overview.

Th000 losing to Moon -> no Problem -> Loser Bracket
Sky losing to Moon -> OUT FFS
