To all people who don't wana test the patch: You don't miss anything. There are no new maps and the few Balance Changes doen't influence the gameplay for a normal player. I tried it and i'm back on my old server because ping is hardly playable and there is just nothing new to discover!

The up- and downgrading works just fine, no problems here. I don't see why they couldn't allow people to play there. The worst thing that can happen is that they have to reinstall their game if something goes wrong. Tested a few games and strangely enough I seem to lag less on that test server then on Northrend.

Even if the patch comes official , I don`t will i dl-it at all....this is just such a crap that it can`t be even worse

Westfall seems to be hosted on Lordaeron, it's lagging like shit.
I only played one game and then gave up.

I think the patch is pretty good for pro-players.

Most imba matchups were (imo):

Nelf vs Orc
Nelf vs Hum-Close-Spawn-TR
Hum vs Orc
Hum vs UD
Orc vs UD

Nelf vs Orc.....
Staff-nerf will influence the typical T2-Burrow-kicking and Beast/Lodge canceling alot.
Orb of Venom-nerf will do alot as well....it`s 18dmg less for each hit.

Nelf vs Hum-Close-Spawn-TR......
Easier to handle for Nelf because of repair-rate-nerf.

Hum vs Orc
Easier to handle Tower-Push because of repair-rate-nerf

Hum vs UD
Harder to expo for Hum. (Harder to tower-up).
Tanks weaker cause of Zig-Buff.
UD maybe will counter-expand with better necro and zigs...dono
Human Tri-Hero combo weaker with staff-nerf.

Orc vs UD.
Still imba imo.
I dont think weak Zigs played a big role in that matchup.
And Necropolis-Buff...dont know...UD wont expand vs Orc anyway (BM >> Acos)

So in the end the patch does alot imo.
It fixes alot imba. It will force new play-styles. (UD expanding ? Human playing more knights ? Nelfs not massing the dyrads ?)
Just Orc vs UD still sucks. Why not buff UD-casters again ? UD the only race that doenst use casters AT ALL...sucks :/

Agreed with you, but what can we do except complain? I as well think that for more than an year blizzard just fooled around and didn't do too much shit, but i guess they are concentrating more on WoW since so many fat nerds along the world play it. Not to mention that blizzard were giving the gamers of WC3 hopeless promises back in december-januray... and as far as i remember the patch was supposed to be released in late January, early February ... and what's now? April ?

I do use casters, but overall I think a single wyrm and frost armor are cheaper more effective T_T

TBH I think people should stop whining about the patch already. Ya'll should be happy that Blizzard even bothers to still patch Warcraft 3 since it's a very old game and most companies would've stopped caring years ago. Ofcause they don't have the same big crew as they had the first few years but hey, they are doing something.

The Patch was smaller than most expected it to be but I think these minor tweaks will have a greater impact than people believe. The only thing I'm really dissapointed about is the missing buffs/changes to the lesser used units and heroes (UD & Orc casters etc.). But I'm very exited about the new maps and I hope to see them being used in tournaments soon.

Hey from the whole beginning I was like whatever to that patch. I don't care what they change, since i cant do anything about it. I never said wc3 players are rock stars or anything like that, but at least wc3 players dont give real money on some websites so they receive online money (in that case gold). Did you know that this one married couple both played WoW, and the woman left the guy because some otehr dude on the server promised her something like 5000 gold or whatever. And there are many more stories like that, and the difference between WoW and wc3 is that wc3 players dont take the game as its their real life, but many many wow players do. They are so addicted all they do is play the freaking game. Thats what i was trying to say, but obviously u misunderstood me

It was only a small jab, I don't want to start a flamewar. Anyway now I do know what you mean but you had a rather harsh way of expressing it. I know some WoW players do some crazy shit but what do you expect, over 9 million people play the game. And don't for a second doubt that these people exist in the Warcraft 3 universe.
If you have been following the scene for a long time than it's possible that you heard of this one guy who paid Cara to level an account for him so he could have some sort of personal revenge on ToD wo he had a grudge against. Account selling was common during Wc3's prime time and if you ask me thats worse than paying for WoW gold.

Yes I play WoW and I enjoy Arenas. I do this for FUN not to become a cyberathlete. I follow the Wc3 scene because I think it's way better as an e-sport and more entertaining to watch. I don't see a reason for you to flame me just because you don't like WoW.

No i doubt its worse because people in WoW just sell anything in the freaking game for real money: items, accounts, enchants, and all that....and im not starting a flamewar, im just explaining whats my point. Oh and btw ive played WoW too and i regret every moment of it, because in the game u bearly need any skills...12 year old kid can play it and still be better than most guys...now let 12 year old kid play vs some 20 year old wc3 and guess who will be the winner. WoW is too much of a team game, making it really stupid and meaningless to the players that want to show their own skills, and as well the game is to repetitive. But wc3 is whole another story...

I think this patch is a huge disappointment. They could've made this shit a long time ago, instead we have to wait for a crappy patch with very little changes.. what happened to the good ol' days?

blizzard is so stupid. instead of buffing some human units or at least decreasing their costs, they nerf towers. pala divine shield also lasts way too long at lvl 2. really bad work.

When I say it's worse I'm referring to gold buying compared to account buying.
When you buy gold for World of Warcraft you can buy stuff for your character that will last in time. A Warcraft 3 account will decay in level by time and if you play it you're probably going to lose. My point being that when paying for WoW gold it will last, while an Wc3 account only last's so long, it's a scam really.

As for the strange things people do for a computer game there's far more shit going on in the World of Warcraft universe, everybody knows that. But it's bound to happen when the playerbase in population is what, 20:1? between the two games.

As far as skills needed Warcraft 3 is clearly the superior, any WoW player will tell you that. But it's not as bad as you make it look, a skilled player will never lose to a bad player. World of Warcraft being an MMORPG sure has factor's that don't belong in a competitive game, such as RNG (Random Number Generation - Resists, Procs etc.).
As you say WoW isn't build around 1on1, if that's what you're looking for WoW obviously isn't the game for you.

My concern with the Warcraft 3 community is the constant name calling and blame put on World of Warcraft for the attention the game receive. Contrary to what Hypnosed thinks I'm not jealous on Wc3 but it's very much the other way around.
The Wc3 community blames WoW for stealing the spotlight as Wc3 are no longer Blizzards main priority. I think the community need to get over it and instead be greatful for the attention the game still get. Let's face it, Blizzard doesn't make money out of Warcraft 3 anymore and they have no obligations to patch the game any longer. And with Starcraft 2 on it's way... need I say more?

Seeing as this is getting rather off topic I will stop posting here right now.
I feel like the enemy of the state here getting tumbed down for trying to defend WoW. A game which the Warcraft 3 community clearly have biased opinion about. It's sad that many of you are so blinded by your hate for the game that you fail to see that I'm a fan of Warcraft 3 as well.
