X-Men is probably my favorite marvel comic of them all, love the depth and the amount of characters.

I'm not a huge Marvel fan, but i quite liked the idea of the Iron Man character. The film wasn't bad. I liked the Neil Gaiman Marvel i read but i can't remember the title since my gf spilt grapejuice al over it -_-;

Iron Man is a great character. I'm guessing you're more of a DC fan? What are your favorite comics/characters?

I'm not a huge comic fan at all actually, i just picked up the Gaiman one because i'm a fan of his. I like some of the plot ideas - Age of Apocolypse sounds like a really awesome arc - but they seem so in-accessible to a beginner. I used to read a few as a kid but i felt like i'd never know the stories and characters properly unless i was born 50 years ago. That and i have an obsessive/addictive personality so it would probably be very very bad for me to get into them properly ;D~

I know what you mean about the accessibleness, as with most comics plots run into multible comics nowadays. Series like civil war and world war hulk stand on their own and don't require alot of background knowledge, which would probably be better for someone without much knowledge of past plots and characters.
