Blogging

Just curious if any of the community also follow/participate in the youtube 'community'. It's not so much a community as such, more like a battle of clashing personalities, each seeking more viewers and subscribers by all means and at the expense of their rivals.

Some of the names which I'm a subscriber myself include boh3m3 and TheHill88, also a few smaller ones which I don't think anyone will have heard of. Anyway, to the point!

What do you think of video blogging and knowing that not every enjoys reading, how do you think the eSports media guys could integrate it? I know Alex (TheSlasH) made some video blogs some time ago and they were generally well received, but outside of that, only Epileptic Gaming is the only real video option left. Is it something you would want to watch and what kind of thing would you like discussed?

Esport video blogs are definitely good for live event coverage like how TheSlasH used them, as long as they're uploaded within a short time of their creation. However I'd still couple them with written blogs/articles from the event as well.

As for the youtube community, I haven't really caught on to it. I only use youtube to lookup random videos of interest, rather than looking into people's lives. Video blogging is a great revolutionary idea, but I don't really feel the need to watch and listen to blogs like that.

I think a weekly roundup of the important esport matches (with footage) would be good. A format like diggnation could also be ok with the right moderators.
2 guys getting wasted while talking esport, I nominate Fisker and BSL..

fuck the youtube community

its a bunch of lowlifes

i only use youtube for videos im really interested in (mainly music, some comedy stuff, etc)

i saw a few of theslash's videos and yeh they were nice... but im generally not interested enough in esports anymore to really follow anything like it

I follow closely the YouTube community, also susbscribed to boh3m3 and TheHill88 (even if I start to find them quite boring) but also subscribed to thewinekone of course, renetto, Lensei, ellaskins, Daxflame and kevjumba.

ooooo you're indeed a youtube follower! TheHill88 is kinda boring at the moment, although I did like her male friend a few 'episodes' ago. Boh3m3 is as good as ever in my opinion! ^^

Well, the thing is that you dont have the time to create video blogs every day and upload them in the next couple of minutes.
For example: If you are alone at a event a have to take care on more things than on the coverage, its really hard to do good video blogs. I know that most of you think, it only takes five minutes to do a video blog. But in my opinion it depends on the situation. If you wake up at 8 and go to bed at 3-4 at night you dont have the energy to do a good blog =)

The conclusion is: If two guys are visiting an event, video blogs are great and should be used more than now! :D
