at the moment 2 'jerks' are able to hide all posts in a thread, making it necessary for other people to un-hide them.

so what im thinking of is:
if u would have like 8-10 'thumbs' from the start, it would not happen so much that 'goog' posts are hidden because some people think its funny, but if the comment would really be bad, it would still disappear, cause there are more rational than irrational people (at least I hope so :P).

Yes, we are thinking about how to make the thumb function better. Will come up with a solution shortly.

Can't you just change the amount of down thumbs your post needs to get before it disappears.
I believe that on Yotube for example posts only disappear when they get 5 thumbs down.

Yes, that's not good.I think if people who just gives - thumbs to all posts get a warning message that his/her ID will ban or delete and he/she will not do that anymore!

Deleting/Ban may be harsh, if its abused by someone, remove their ability to give the thumbs down instead of baning. Or, only allow ppl to give as many thumbs down as they themselves have recieved thumbs up

An interval period will be great, but also a -3/-5 thumbs to hide a comment will help also.

Its got better now, not so many posts being thumbs downed like what was happening on the day the site was launched!

I agree with max but as someone said it would be good to allow people to give thumbs down as much as they have received thumbs up.

I guess this thumb-thing is here to take the place of the ex popularity rank, what I don't understand, why not have both?

We have added abuse detection now, and remove a lot of votes from certain users. Some got banned totally, some got banned from using thumbs.

Also removed thumbs from groups totally.

Think you should remove them from albums also!
