It should be legal because 1. everyone smokes weed...the people that havent are the basement virgins that never leave their house or hang out with friends 2. It doesn't cause death like tobacco or alcohol does. 3. people are still gonna keep smoking and if more powerful drugs are legal why shouldnt mj be illegal.

Seeing as both alcohol and tobacco are legal in most countries, it just makes me frustrated that cannabis isn't. And the only reason it got illegal in the first place was because of:
1. Racism (it apparently made "black people think they are as good as white people")
2. After the alcohol-ban in USA was removed, they had too many police officers without assignments, so they thought "Let's go after the black people and their weed", for no good reason at all.

There is a way to make it work legally, but you have to regulate it and control it.
Make the state responsible for selling it, and put taxes on it.
Not only will it give your country an increased income, but by having the growth controlled, you will always buy cannabis of good quality, and I'm sure the prices will be lower aswell.
Again, this is a win-win situation and I don't know why the governments are still stuck in their propaganda-influenced thoughts.

On another note, cannabis is NOT harmless, but there are just so many legal drugs that are way more dangerous than cannabis. It's time for the governments to wake up.

The question isn't why tobacco is legal, it's why cannabis is illegal.

Thing is, the white people simply liked tobacco, way more than the black people. So, they forced the black to work at the tobacco fields while they enjoyed their precious tobacco. The black worked as any slave, with very little payment, or no payment at all.

Alcohol and tobacco have both been socially accepted for a long while, and if it wasn't for the two facts I put out in the first post, I'm sure cannabis would be legal today.

It's legal in Holland. You can buy max. 5 grams a day but most coffeeshop can sell you more, most ones have more weed then they're allowed to have (officially max. 500 grams).
