Spore

Most of you have already heard of Spore, a "massively single-player online game" by Will Wright. The core of the game is playing a god role, experimenting with evolution. The game is going to offer open-ended gameplay and procedural generation, meaning every player will have a completely different gameplay experince. For those of you who have been living under a rock and have never heard of the game, here's the official website: http://www.spore.com/

A few days ago, the trial version of the creature creator has been released: http://www.spore.com/trial, which gives you the first insights into the game by offering you the possibility of creating creatures with an editor.

The topic for discussion is the following: in a world, where primarily multiplayer games rule the scene, Spore is a breath of fresh air, focusing on your imagination, using it to create an interesting single player experience. Should other games use more non-linear single player experiences as well? How could this be implemented in a FPS or RTS? Are you looking forward to the game, are you going to play it? Have you done anything interesting with the creature editor so far?

hehe funny game. im waiting for this one tbh - seems very humoristic aswell as a good alternative to other games because its something new. reminds me a bit of black & white (which i never played) but oh well its totally different to that game.

im looking forward to play it (will give at least the demo a shot)

i just like creating my own cute creatures :D

Uh I prefer real 3D apps for this ;)
