BETA Information

Promod is still being tested, and many features are still to be changed, added or removed. Feedback involving specific bugs is welcome and needed, but please check the TODO list lower on the page before doing this.

The menus are not fully complete, please do not send feedback regarding ‘axis’ and ‘allies’, this was merely done to save time with the new menu system. It is not a new feature and certainly will not be staying.

If you believe you have found a critical bug that is not mentioned, take note of how, and when it happened, and what happened before, if applicable how you died, how many players were left, what were they doing when they died (e.g throwing grenades), were any new promod features used, etc.

1. List of features in Release 1

Server FPS 30 means 50% better registration accuracy on moving targets
The new functions have been added to the Multiplayer Controls menu
Autoaim for knife has been removed
You can now kill the opposite team during ready up mode
Improved visibility and colour
Increased FPS on some machines
You can now drop the bomb in 'Search and Destroy'
IWD Sum/Name mismatch should stop
The menu's have been stripped and made quicker to use
Points awarded in Search and Destroy gametype have been changed
Music and ingame shouting has been removed
The AWP fixes and no sway fixes have been integrated into the game
Timeout plant bug has been fixed
The SMG has been slightly altered.
None used attachments and perks from the Unified Ruleset have been removed from the menu's
Sniper registration has been increased, and the hitboxes slightly improved
Flash bangs are now less effective when looking away from them. The sound has not however been changed
The available game modes have been cut down, using the standardised ruleset
Gun Camoflage has been added to the game
The new maps have had smoke, weather and fire removed
Fog has been further reduced on all remaining maps
The compass cheat will be detected by promod, for those servers not updated by PB.
Client connection settings have been changed for compatibility with sv_fps 30
There is now a 2sec delay at the end of rounds for frag movies (Not in current closed beta)
During Ready Up mode, damage stats are given realtime.

2. List of changes/fixes for Release 1.6

You can no longer shoot teammates during strat time
Ambient sounds have been fully removed
Registration has been further improved
Teams now swap outfits when changing side
The ‘MR’ system will now accept any number (e.g promod_mode pub_mr5, mr1500, etc). See bottom of page for details
The ‘Desert Eagle’ is now the default pistol for all classes
The smoke grenade is now the default special grenade for all classes
The AK74u is now the default weapon for the SMG class
The sprint bug has probably been fixed
The weapon select menu has been condensed
Scores now swap when changing side
You can no longer bypass strat time
Strat time has been reduced to 6 seconds normal and 12 seconds lan overtime mode.
Removed shotgun grip
Gun skin related settings are now in the multiplayer options menu (off/on/shiny)
Cars have had a bug fixed
The multiple class select bug MAY have been fixed
The ak74u clip size has been reduced to 24
Flash grenades have been slightly increased in power compared to Release 1
You can no longer drop the bomb while planting
The Call of Duty 4 briefcase has been restored
There is no longer a ‘bomb dropped’ announcement in teamchat
Sun glare has been noticeably reduced
FPS has been slightly improved
You can now set r_detail to 0 to turn off camouflage.
Spectator can now be selected using the keyboard
The ‘ninja plant’ sound has been removed
The competitive public SD ruleset has been fixed and now uses mr8. mr10 and mr12 can be access still via pub_mr10, pub_mr12 promod modes
Car windows now fully break when only ‘tagged’

3. Upcoming Changes for Future Release

TODO Togglable Auto-ready up has been added to the game
TODO Kill triggers on map bugs?
TODO Spectators will recieve more information on scores, etc
TODO? A neutral Call of Duty 2 style commentator MAY be added to the game.
TODO Match start time has been removed
TODO Support for IRC score tickers has been implemented and enabled by default
TODO Colours are now more visible showing opfor/marine
TODO you can now use and have full control of enable_art through the menu system.
TODO Fix TDM/DM ‘dead’ icons
TODO Enable desert camo
TODO Disable timeout during ready up mode
TODO Fix backlot insanely loud car
TODO Make physics so you cant reenable
TODO 2 second delay at round end for frag movies
TODO Make the game detect round ends faster when deaths are early

4. Notes

The golden weapons will not shine without r_specular 1 set. This can be done from the menu now
Binding your weapon change to a button (e.g X). You can now type codes for each weapon. Examples of these are at the bottom of the document
Type in “/con_hidechannel error” to remove any ‘red’ messages (these are a known issue for Release 2 to resolve)

5. Instructions for use

Install mod.ff to your server's mod directory.
Make sure all PAM files have been removed, and any weapon fixes are also gone.
No IWD files should be in the game directory except promod106.iwd, which should NOT be renamed. Do NOT rename it

The following SD gametypes have been included:
Pub_mr(x) and mr(x) – x must be from 1 to 10000

Examples of use:
/rcon promod _mode pub_mr15
/rcon promod _mode pub_mr100
/rcon promod _mode mr10
/rcon promod_mode mr8

Etc…

For public deathmatch and team deathmatch, I advise using the inbuilt comp_public mode.

6. The Unified Ruleset

The unified ruleset is currently as follows:
-3 SMG Limit, reduced 74u clip size
-1 Sniper Limit with AWP Fix
-1 Shotgun Limit
-10 Second Strat Time (15 during overtime for lan finals, etc)
-5 Second Plant/7 second Defuse
-Sway fix
-Bandolier and Stopping Power (unchangeable now, and hidden)

X16 : AK47, Smoke
X1416 : AK47, Flash
X26 : AK74u, Smoke
X2416 : AK74u, Flash
