A few weeks ago it was announced that Harley "dsn" Örwall would replace Youcef "Solido" Riahi in the fnatic.
cs lineup for the Singapore World Tour Stop. When this news was announced, we were assured that dsn would only be a stand-in for the event - and that Solido would be back with the team afterwards, but this does not now seem the case.
Harley "dsn" Örwall has been one of the best AWP players in the world for quite a while now. He's played in a number of top teams, such as Begrip, Gamers.nu, xPerience.se and the famous mix team Skolpojkarna. Most recently he's played in the Swedish clan EYEBALLERS.
After fnatic's first place success at the Singapore World Tour Stop, they have decided to keep Harley "dsn" Örwall in the team as a permanent player. With this announcement we have also been informed that Youcef "Solido" Riahi will be removed from the team. The reasons for his departure and replacement by dsn are mainly because fnatic felt that dsn was a better fit in the team - due to his AWP skills.
Below is an extract from dsn himself about this move:
“I'm confident that the fnatic organization will be able to give the team full support in order to become a solid top notch team in 2006, and I'm confident that the CS-team will put in as much effort as the organization in the strive of becoming one of the best teams in the world/one of the most recognized gaming brands in the world. I'm living my dream; I make a living out of playing computer games. I can't really say that I would've wanted any other life.”
This move leaves the fnatic.cs team in the following state:
Benjamin "diGitaL" Hildén
Harley "dsn" Örwall
Magnus "Magix" Berndtsson
Abdi "MegatoN" Mohamed
Mikael "zaffe" Säflund
With dsn moving from the EYEBALLERS team, it obviously means that they are now down by one player. Below you can find an extract of the statement given out by the EYEBALLERS organisation about this departure:
“EYEBALLERS is going through a big change and I think many you will see a lot of positive changes in the upcoming weeks; although dsn leaving was not positive of course.”
It seems like the EYEBALLERS team will most probably get a replacement for dsn pretty soon, but for now they're line-up is as follows:
Olof "archie" Ekdala
Björn "Bullen" Wall
Patrik "cArn" Sättermon
Conny "Zad" Ryderholm
It will be interesting to see what the EYEBALLERS team do next, but we wish both the fnatic and EYEBALLERS teams the best of luck in the future!
