The Movie Project "Awoken Eyes" of Alternate.aTTax has currently been shut down because of the GEMA ( which owns the copyrights of the Music interpreters in Germany ). They want the Producer to get EVERY SINGLE permission for every song from their Interpreters to allow it.With that, actually every single CounterStrike movie has been published illegal!!!

Heh, I posted about this on these forums a few years ago. See below. But bds never responded, even though a bunch of forum people asked him to. Oh well, I guess the RIAA finally caught on...hopefully SK won't get into trouble for their occasional pay-for-movie (with copyrighted music) business.

bds you may run into legal problems if you make Frag or Die 2 SK Insider only. For the same reason gosey, you may get trouble over your own movie just now. I don't know how it works in Sweden, or how international law would resolve it, but if you distribute copyrighted music (even inside of a video) then you could be sued by the music's copyright holders. This might not be SO bad, but they can sue you MUCH more nastily if you use their copyrighted music to reap financial benefits, for example by distributing it via a for-payment service like SK insider.
Disclaimer: I'm not a lawyer. But I think this is true...perhaps why some good CS movie makers like maul (you might not have heard of him in Europe much, you can look on csflicks.net for his movies) use what sounds like non-copyrighted 'generic' music in movies.

Although as it turns out maul uses real music, I just hadn't heard it before :/

The has been rumours circulating about the site being shut down by the RIAA. Neither me nor my web host has been contacted by the RIAA. The reason for the site being down is, as far as I know, a technincal issue at my web host. RIAA is welcome to mail me if they want to get in touch with us. Until then, the site lives on.
Update As you may have noticed the site is not working 100% right now. This is due to the massive influx in visitors that the news about the site has caused. We are working on getting it more stable.
