Blizzard regularly goes on banning sprees. A new round of bannings were done Wednesday, and a total of 5900 Warcraft 3 accounts were banned permanently. In addition, 2300 CD keys have been banned from ladder play for one month, and 500 CD keys have been banned permanently.
Blizzard has chosen to take an aggressive stance against cheating, and the accounts that are closed were all tied to the use of a hack or a cheat program while playing Warcraft 3 on Battle.net. In their announcement, they ask people to help report hacking or cheating by sending an email to hacks@blizzard.com.
