Catch`bsl Opens Website

Having personal websites may just be the new trend. Not long ago, XeqtR from NoA got his own site, and now, another Norwegian has launched a website. The Counter-Strike player Jonas "bsl" Alsaker Vikan from Catch-Gamer has opened his own private site called Beselbub.com.

"The idea of this website actually dates back to the first teams of my career and it's been on my mind ever since. The problem has been finding the resources to finally publish it, since I have written or posted all content myself it's been a lot of work. The idea or the vision of the website is to have an esport resource pertaining to myself and my views of the scene and the experiences I've made and are still making," says bsl.
"Right now there are over 1000 private pictures there from esport tournaments dating back to 2001 as well as articles about the teams I have been fortunate enough to play in throughout my career. beselbub.com will also be a resource for my friends and my loved ones since there are also about 1000 pictures from different occasions and trips posted in the "whois" section of the site."
There is indeed a lot of material and information on the website. Travel reports, pictures (including one where he has a melon on his head), info about his friends, his team, and even his biography can be found on the site. There are also files for download and bsl's own "international backpacking guide to beer", complete with dice rolls for each beer brand reviewed.
The negative side is that this is a site where you have to pay in order to access all features. While the price is only $5 for six months, it's still money. And bsl expects to be flamed for that.
"I'm sure that'll be heavily critizised but the idea of 5 Euros for a six month account is for me to be able to actually give the people who have helped me by coding and designing the site and putting in hundreds of hours of free work something in return. So it's not a get rich or die tryin' affair but rather an attempt to say thanks your work is appreciated," he says.
"The page itself is free of charge, people can create user accounts at will but the more "heavy" features of the page like the tons of photos and so on require a subscription. And the statement on the page that I will buy you a beer if you feel a it was a waste of money, still stands..."
