While the prizes for the Battle.net Season One Tournament were fairly small, Blizzard has upped the stakes a lot for Season Two. They offer a cash pool of $13,000 and additional hardware worth $12,000 for a total prize pool of $25,000.
The bannings that were done on January 20 and the recent level and experience cap removal was in fact preparation to make the playing field fair for the upcoming Battle.net Season Two. And the upcoming tournament will definitely draw attention and of course, top players.
The cut will be made May 2, 2005 at 12 PM PST, and just like last season, the top solo and 2v2 players from each gateway will be invited to participate. But while last season had plenty of people not showing up, there should be fierce competition this season thanks to the big prize pool donated by Microsoft, Alienware

bliizard is really a great company ... they make the best games and they care the most about the community
Nice to hear sth. from Blizzard, shows that they still care about WC3. Plus they got some real prestigious sponsors such as Microsoft, Creative Labs and Alienware, this also stresses that the big companies see a future in this game - and the community ;)
