According to the aAa Website, the map has been tested for two months by players who have helped developing the map. The result is now added to the official French ladder pool of ESL, and it can be chosen by the teams for their matches.

aAa has also conducted an interview with the map creator Coucouoeuf. The interview is in French, but Coucouoeuf explains that he wanted to make a map that was inspired by Greece. Initially, he called the map de_santorini after the Greek island, but for simplicity's sake, he changed it to de_sunny.
Coucouoeuf explains how the admins and the players helped him test the map, and how he reworked the spawns and the bomb site access points. He also says that he has other projects going on, but what exactly that is, is top secret...
