WC3: Zubie Joins Ownage
The Swedish clan Ownage, formerly known as Bamse Company, has recruited the Undead player Oskar "Zubie" Rudberg before the WC3L Season Seven Qualifiers.
"I joined the team because I know where I have most of the members. I know them from before, so it is a different feeling from joining a sponsored team where you basically recruit as good players as possible to create a good team. To me, this team is more like a team for friends only, which makes me feel more welcome and at home," Zubie says.
Zubie has played in the WC3L before. He was a part of Team 9, but they fell apart. Then he went to ieS who also got disbanded, and Zubie chose not to follow the other teammates to 3wD. Eventually, he joined Team 64AMD, but he didn't feel at home, so he chose to leave and take a three month long break from Warcraft. "I got tired of the game," he explains.
Three weeks ago, he decided to start playing again. "I had a lot of spare time, and I started playing just for fun. And people responded to that, several teams wanted me to join them."
Zubie eventually settled for Ownage. "I only have good feelings for Ownage. I like everyone in the team, and that will probably make me more motivated to do my best for them. And I won't let them down," he says.
Known as a solid player both in 1v1 and 2v2, Zubie compliments the team well. Their current lineup consists of the following players:
Random_NE (NE) (manager)
aNty (UD)
DeliCato (HU)
Ishajr (NE)
Luhrmann (OR)
SjoW (NE)
Zubie (UD)With Ownage, DeliCato and SjoW will try to make a WC3L comeback. The level 50 2v2 team recently became the Battle.net Worldwide Season One 2v2 Runner-Ups. SjoW also showed his solo strength by finishing second in the Warcraft competition at NollElva, losing to SK.MaDFroG in the finals, but taking one game from him.
"Even though it feels more like a friendly team, it is a great team with really great players. I think our chances of getting into this WC3L season are very big," Zubie says.
Ownage's Warcraft 3 manager, Random_NE, is happy about Zubie joining the team. "I think that if he plays some more, he will be a strong addition to our solo lineup. He has great experience from international competitions," he says.
Zubie will first and foremost be a solo player, but Random_NE is considering also using him for 2v2. "I am going to try him in 2v2 too, but we haven't discussed that so much yet. We will see what happens in the future."
RandomNE is also optimistic about Ownage's chances of qualifying for the seventh WC3L season. "I think our chances are better than ever. We have several 1 on 1 players to pick for the clan wars, and we have DeliCato and SjoW in 2 on 2, and they are nearly godlike. So I think we will qualify, hopefully without any problems."
