ImageThe core gameplay of Dota has received a few tweaks, as the original Warcraft III map receives adjustments at the hand of IceFrog.

Fans of Keeper of the Light and Nerubian Assassin will likely be disappointed, as their two favorite heroes have suffered the wrath of the balancing hand of IceFrog. Keeper of the Light's Illuminate ability has been substantially nerfed, with the area of effect (AOE) decreased and the mana cost scaling factor increased. The same is true for Nerubian Assassin's Spiked Carapace ability, which has a shorter duration and substantially larger cooldown timer. In addition to these two heroes, Drow Ranger, (who is currently not on the Captain's Mode roster), now has a slightly lessened ultimate with Marksmanship, which has its bonus removed while in the presence of other heroes and has a smaller detection range.

* Tranquil Boots disabled speed reduced from 50 to 25
* Tranquil Boots heal increased from 170 to 250
* Tranquil Boots cooldown increased from 40 to 60
* Tranquil Boots heal duration increased from 10 to 20
* Illuminate manacost increased from 150 to 150/160/170/180
* Illuminate AOE reduced from 400 to 350
* Spiked Carapace duration reduced from 2.75 to 2.25
* Spiked Carapace cooldown increased from 14 to 23/20/17/14
* Marksmanship bonus is removed when there are nearby enemy heroes (instead of just being halved)
* Reduced Marksmanship enemy detection aoe reduced from 400 to 375
* Heaven’s Halberd's Disarm is no longer dispelled by Manta
* Living Armor damage reduction is now done for all instances of damage that reduce its charges

Previous Living Armor Behavior: It would eat up charges from all damage sources, but only absorb some damage from heroes physical attacks

New Living Armor Behavior: Still eats up charges from all sources (including magic), but absorbs some damage from them as well

The next update to Dota 2 is scheduled to take place Thursday, March 21, during which time, it is expected for the Dota parity update to be implemented. In addition to these expected implementations, a handful of the remaining heroes are expected to be ported within the near future. Of the twelve not yet implemented, five are well into development, including Skywrath Mage, Bristlebog (Bristleback), Elder Titan (Tauren Chieftain), Abaddon and Legion Commander. Due to recent exposure of the concept art, the names of these characters have seen some degree of alteration, as well as some other interesting details, including Legion Commander's gender.
