By Dan 'Danheim' Greeno

ImageThe super week is upon us, doubling the fun and doubling the coverage! The action is in abundance this week, so sit back and enjoy tons of high quality competitive League of Legends play!

Game 1 US Vulcan versus US Counter Logic Gaming

Picks
CLG: Jarvan IV, Vayne, Alistar, Malphite, Xerath
Vulcan: Kayle, Twitch, Singed, Volibear, Thresh

Bans
CLG: Hecarim, Rumble, Kog'Maw
Vulcan: Twisted Fate, Xin Zhao, Nidalee

Having come of of an embarrassing Week 3 the game's tone was set early by CLG. It was a fast start for one of the top NA teams, and Doublelift, with the help of Aphromoo, began the recipe of success by securing first blood and not letting off of the gas pedal for the rest of the match. With their adc strong and early map aggression CLG Would go on to outplay Vulcan at every turn, and although the young team would try to make up some ground by stealing away the first dragon of the game it was too little, too late. By the twenty minute mark this game was starting to spin out of control, and despite all of the complaints Doublelift had made about ranged adc's in the current scene it was he and his Vayne that carried CLG to victory.

Game 2 US Team Curse Academy versus US MRN

Picks
Curse: Xin Zhao, Tryndamere, Lux, Caitlyn, Lulu
MRN: Nidalee, Jarvan IV, Cho'Gath, Alistar, Tristana

Bans
Curse: Shen, Taric, Renekton
MRN: Kayle, Twisted Fate, Akali

The undefeated Curse was looking to keep their streak alive as they went up against MRN, but even at the top of the food chain they came in primed to keep their edge for as long as possible. Early aggression was the name of the game, and a tower for each team was gone even before the four minute mark. Despite some skirmishes in the laning phase neither team had secured a single kill, rather focusing on global objectives and testing the waters to see if they could pull out an advantage. Curse would hold their dominance over the map, however, and behind the power of AP Tryndamere and Xin Zhao the carries would press on and take objective after objective. First blood would not come until nearly twenty minute, and with Curse rolling over MRN in the first real team fight of the match it never eased up after that, Curse snowballing their way to victory to remain undefeated.

Game 3 US Team SoloMid versus US compLexity Gaming

Picks
TSM: Taric, Miss Fortune, Jarvan IV, Malphite, Xerath
coL: Twisted Fate, Xin Zhao, Fiddlesticks, Varus, Rumble

Bans
TSM: Shen, Kog'Maw, Vi
coL: Kayle, Singed, Orianna

Complexity comes in with a single win under their belt, but going off against perhaps the most popular team to ever be in the NA scene it would take an extended effort for them to claim their second. The game started off fast and furious, and in an exciting show of recklessness both teams made early pushes, claiming not one but two towers each before even five minutes had gone by. With the level of play taking a twist few have seen on the pro level it would boil down to who could react to the changes the best. TSM, however, being a tight nit group would respond to the situation the best, and even though the team fights would swing in favor of both teams it would be TSM's experience and poise that would start to shine. With superior positioning and organization they would down coL much like everyone else has in the LCS, putting the former Brunch Club deeper into the loss column.

Game 4 US Good Game University versus US Counter Logic Gaming

Picks
GGU: Kayle, Elise, Akali, Caitlyn, Nunu
CLG: Alistar, Jarvan IV, Cho'Gath, Vayne, Orianna

Bans
GGU: Malphite, Shen, Nidalee
CLG: Twitch, Rumble, Lux

With an almost identical champion selection as in their first match it seemed that several members of CLG were hell bent on keeping the momentum from the first match of the day. The game would not go as smoothly for them, however, and despite their best efforts it was the map control of GGU that kept CLG down for most of the match. Although they were a powerhouse in lanes and in team fights CLG would see the match slip into GGU's favor by being caught out and losing on global objectives as map control went the way of GGU. Skirmishes and duels would break out across Summoners Rift, but neither team could claim victory before having a solid team fight. When the dust settled it was CLG that came out on top, their positioning and individual strength overcoming their deficits and winning them the match with the power of brute force.

Game 5 US Team Curse Academy versus US compLexity Gaming

Picks
CRS: Taric, Xin Zhao, Twisted Fate, Miss Fortune, Elise
coL: Thresh, Jarvan IV, Ryze, Twitch, Zed

Bans
CRS: Shen, Vi, Jayce
coL: Nidalee, Kayle, Tryndamere

Coming out with a loss against TSM, compLexity would try to take on the undefeated Curse in a bout that would end quickly and effortlessly. Proving why they're the hottest team in NA, Curse would start early and with a composition made to force objectives as well as dominate the map. The laning phase showed that Curse was able to keep compLexity on the defensive, and taking a hold of an early lead they were able to outplay the lesser coL at every turn. The game was one of the quickest least thrilling of the day, but it proved that even at the pro level there are such games that just have everything go against you: this was that sort of game for compLexity.

Game 6 US Team SoloMid versus US Good Game University

Picks
TSM: Leona, Miss Fortune, Orianna, Jarvan IV, Rumble
GGU: Xin Zhao, Lulu, Corki, Lux, Tryndamere

Bans
TSM:Kayle, Akali, Twisted Fate
GGU: Singed, Malphite, Taric

The game started off with the classic TSM 3v2 four minute tower gank picking up a double kill for Miss Fortune. With continuous pressure, great communication and solid execution, TSM maintained the momentum securing multiple teamfight wins and small advantages. Knowing GGU's AP Tryndamere had collected the majority of the kills, as he was split-pushing, TSM took advantage of 4v4 teamfights, secured Baron Nashor and pushed for the win. Shout out to Chaox's Miss Fortune build skipping Boots of Speed, and grabbing Zephyr. In an interview after the match, Chaox mentioned that “there were a few scary moments in the game, especially when Tryndamere was 4/1/0, however we let him push bot while we pushed through mid for the win.”

Game 7 US Team Dignitas versus US Vulcun

Picks
DIG: Singed, Vi, Zyra, Gragas, Graves
VUL: Alistar, Xin Zhao, Ezreal, Rumble, Ryze

Bans
DIG: Nidalee, Hecarim, Elise
VUL: Draven, Diana, Kayle

Vulcan started strong, picking up first blood onto Singed from a Flashing Alistar headbutt. As both junglers attempted to gank mid lane, Vi proved to be the greater grabbing a 2 for 1 trade for his team. Crumbz's Vi was the story of the match. He was constantly counter jungling, and maintained complete control of the map. Vi was able to out-farm and snowball Vulcan's entire team and be the turning force in every team fight. Dignitas was able to destroy all of Vulcan's inner turrets before twenty-one minutes and seized the opportunities to take Baron Nashor and important objectives. In a final push at bottom lane, Dignitas poked Ezreal down to critical health, then pushed in for the win.

Game 8 US Counter Logic Gaming versus US MRN

Picks
CLG: Nidalee, Taric, Vayne, Orianna, Wukong
MRN: Renekton, Vi, Kog'Maw, Sona, Twisted Fate

Bans
CLG: Tristana, Jarvan IV, Xin Zhao
MRN: Malphite, Shen, Kayle

Team MRN opens the game strong with a 2 for 1 first blood for Kog'Maw. With an early lead MRN stealthily picked up the first dragon and began the team snowball. MRN's Vi was constantly ganking bottom lane, knowing he had to keep Kog'Maw consistently ahead of Vayne. With a strong lead and a heavy engaging comp, MRN was able to burn Vayne's flash over and over, then capitalizing on small advantages. CLG did not go down without a fight, Link's Orianna helped to slow down MRN's momentum and secured multiple kills without any casualties. However, after a forced Baron Nashor, MRN's Twisted Fate Zhonyas initiate baited CLG's crucial ultimate’s, and MRN secured an impressive Ace onto CLG. MRN pushed for the win and upset the CLG favorites.

Game 9 US Team Dignitas versus US Team Curse Academy

Picks
Dig: Xin Zhao, Elise, Alistar, Kog'Maw, Diana
Curse: Taric, Jarvan IV, Nidalee, Twitch, Lux

Bans
Dig: Miss Fortune, Twisted Fate, Tryndamere
Curse: Singed, Kayle, Vi

After a slightly more drawn out grace period given by Curse, they eventually did get the ball rolling with a gank on bot which ended in a kill. This pressure allowed them to secure Dragon shortly after, and as Curse looked to be starting to work their magic, Dig buckled down to minimize their losses. When the second Dragon spawned Curse went for it, but Dignitas' resilience shone through and they picked up 3 kills after, and took two turrets in mid. With the pressure being turned around, Dig began to press their advantages all around the map, culminating in a 4v5 win top while Scarra was pushing bot. Clearly ahead and with superior numbers, Dignitas takes the first Baron. Keeping up this slow crushing style on the lanes, Dig manage to shove down the base and hand Curse their first loss of LCS.

Game 10 US Vulcun versus US compLexity Gaming

Picks
VUL: Twisted fate, Alistar, Elise, Kog'Maw, Xin Zhao
CoL: Taric, Jarvan IV, Diana, Shen, Ezreal

Bans
VUL: Zed, Vi, Kayle
CoL: Nidalee, Singed, Hecarim

Vulcun is riding high from their victories last week, and shows that they are serious by getting the game going on their terms, securing first blood and the first dragon shortly after. With their advantage Vulcun apply pressure and just brawl with CompLexity all over the map. However Vulcun seems to be getting a little ahead of themselves, losing back-to-back fights at Dragon, under coL's turret, and at Dragon again. Neither team wants to concede and continue to fight each other at every turn. The biggest swing is at Baron, when Vulcun takes it but ends up losing multiple members for their efforts. However they had hit their breaking point; Vulcun crushes coL in the next big fight and eventually takes down the nexus for the win.

Game 11 US Team Dignitas versus US Good Game University

Picks
Dig: Vi, Graves, Lulu, Orianna, Akali
GGU: Ezreal, Sona, Diana, Nocturne, Gragas

Bans
Dig: Twisted Fate, Kayle, Elise
GGU: Singed, Xin Zhao, Draven

GGU has been looking shaky this whole tournament, with their mid-laner still MIA in the Great White North, GGU really needs to start pulling out some wins. This game starts out promisingly with a first blood coming out for them, but spirals quickly out of control. Dignitas runs the map, picking up kills and objectives as they please. Once they release GGU is content to sit back and not be aggressive at all, Dignitas picks up a free Baron and just steamrolls their base for the win.

Game 12 US Team SoloMid versus US MRN

Picks
TSM: Taric, Miss Fortune, Rumble, Xin Zhao, Xerath
Marn: Jarvan IV, Alistar, Tristana, Nidalee, Akali

Bans
TSM: Twisted Fate, Kayle, Renekton
Marn: Leblanc, Singed, Malphite

This game starts off very slowly, as Marn is looking for another upset and TSM is looking to live up their name in ways they have not been lately. The first bit of action is at 16 minutes with a Dragon for Marn. A good gank by TheOddOne on to MegaZero gets us out of the 0-0 rut, but when Mega returns to lane he kills Dyrus 1v1, an unexpected and sloppy mistake. With TSM picking up a few kills the look to be pulling ahead, but Marn still hold on to objective control, grabbing another Dragon. Marn man up and pressure the Baron, securing it, 3 kills and the mid inhibitor. TSM scrambles to make a play and hides in a bush in order to catch Marn unaware, but it goes horribly wrong for them and Tristana ends up bouncing off TSMs' heads straight into the winner's circle
