IPL to be sold

ImageNot too long ago IGN was acquired by digital media company Ziff Davis. Now they have announced that they are in the process of restructuring IGN and associated websites and one of the changes they announced was the selling of IPL.

Since April 2011 the IGN ProLeague, short IPL, has held several major tournaments and as of now provides new competitive content on a daily basis. With Ziff Davis CEO Vivek Shah's announcement about their efforts to sell IPL nobody knows how it will change in the future. Appearently they are already in contact with interested parties so if you fear IPL's end, do not worry, it hasn't come that far yet but still one can only imagine what the effects will be.
Best case scenario would of course be that everything continues as it is now or will maybe even be improved but a change of ownership could just as well mean downsizing.
I certainly hope IPL will be acquired by a company with the determination to make it even bigger, improve production quality further and of course provide us with even more events and regular content.

Do you fear for IPL's future?
