Team AZUBU has recently expanded their roster with quite a number of notable Korean players and now they have joined the eSports Federation and will participate in the GSTL as soon as Heart of the Swarm is released. For a long time
Kim 'viOlet' Dong Hwan was the only Starcraft 2-player to be sponsored by AZUBU. In December 2012 and January 2013 they decided to add not only a few but eleven top Koreans to their roster, making them a force to be reckoned with. Although there is no Code S champion among them yet it can only be a matter of time until there is. Almost every player in team AZUBU has managed to make it to a decent round in GSL Code S and some of them have also proven themselves already by getting a top placement in foreign tournaments. The rest will surely follow soon as AZUBU is going to give them more than enough chances to compete outside of Korea in 2013.
When Starcraft 2 came out it was first expected that KeSPA would acquire the broadcast rights for the sequel to Brood War but instead Korean non-KeSPA teams formed the eSports Federation, short eSF. As of today pretty much every notable Korean Starcraft 2 team is part of the eSF, now also including AZUBU. This does not only make AZUBU part of eSF's quest to promote eSports and protect its members but they will also be part of the eSF seed selection for IPL and GSTL preseason.
As both sides stated this collaboration can only result in a Win-Win scenario since AZUBU has become one of the most successful eSports teams with their League of Legends teams AZUBU Frost and AZUBU Blaze and it is expected that with viOlet becoming a popular and achieved player under their banner their new acquisitions will surely follow.
I think this cooperation can only be beneficial for AZUBU,eSF and the Starcraft 2 scene in general and I look forward to seeing team AZUBU in the GSTL in Heart of the Swarm.
