ESL and Activision to host BO2 $1.000.000 tourney

ImageAfter the COD XP 2011, Activision announced another big tournament !

Probably a lot of you will remember the COD XP, where Activision hosted a big Call of Duty Black Ops tourney featuring the best 32 teams from all over the world. Now, 2 years later, Activison announced that they will host another COD XP in cooperation with the Electronic Sports League.

On the 16th and 17th March, the sixteen best teams from across Europe will compete at the European Championship Finals at Europe's prime location for eSports events: the ESL eSports Arena in Cologne, Germany. There they will face off against each other for a share of $10,000 in prize money and eight places at the Call of Duty: Black Ops II Grand Final in L.A.!

To be eligible for the European Championship Finals, your team must meet the following requirements:

Age: All players of a team must be at least 18 years old by the date of the Studio Event (16th March).
Teams: Fixed teams. At least 3 out of 4 players must have played together in all qualifying cups. 1 player can be replaced during the Qualifiers.
Country: At least 3 out of 4 players of a team must be from the region the team wants to qualify for (Benelux, Scandinavia, Germany, Italy, France, Spain, United Kingdom or Rest of Europe).
Travel and hotel is included for all offline events, and catering for players and visitors will be provided.

Prize Money

1st place: $5,000
2nd place: $2,500
3rd place: $1,200
4th place: $500
5 - 8th place: $200
