As they write, the tournamet will be shifted to an unknown date later in the year, because of "potential" schedule conflicts with other tournaments, which are taking place in this time. The good effect is, as they say, that they can expand the tournament competitors.
We will see the reactions of the community about that, but I myself agree with the reasons of the CPL. And I think it doesn't matter, if the tournament will take place now or then. The main thing is that the tournament will be a nice event.
CPL Statement
UT2K3 Competitors,
Due to potential scheduling conflicts with other tournaments that are taking place during THE NVIDIA UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003 CHAMPIONSHIP and in the best interest of the community, we have decided to postpone the tournament until later this year.
The CPL simply does not want to divide the community, and would much rather host this tournament when no potential conflicts exist. Moving the tournament to a later date should also give us the opportunity to expand the number of
tournament competitors
