ImageIt is the same procedure for nearly every event as some weeks or days before the event starts some players can't attend and others will replace them. Aditionally the IEM open bracket has been released - some noteable players will try their luck to advance to the group stage.

Two players had to be replaced due to different reasons. FR Ilyes 'Stephano' Satouri will be replaced by the Protoss player DE Giacomo 'Socke' Thüs and CL Pipe 'KiLLeR' Zuñiga will be replaced by US Kevin 'Siphonn' Bentz. So two Zerg players will be out of the groups and two Protoss player will enter the competition. Both replacements got seeded into extremely strong groups as both players will face players who won several tournaments already. Socke will be in group C, while Siphonn will be in group B.

The open bracket for IEM Katowice has been open for signing as well and the full open bracket is now available. As NL Joseph 'Ret' de Kroon, DE Dario 'TLO' Wünsch, DK Jon 'BabyKnight' Andersen and some other notable players will try their best in the open bracket, there might be some more good players in the groupstage, once the open bracket is finished. The most notable participants are listed in the picture below:

IEM Katowice will take place January 18th - 20th with a total price pool of 82.000$ for LoL and SC II WoL. The Open Bracket will be played on the 17th of January.
