Axiom and Acer have announced a partnership for the upcoming GSTL. Axiom newcomers Alicia and Heart are part of the cross-roster too.A new team, part Team Acer and part Axiom, has been formed for the upcoming GSTL.
The lineup consists of:
Axiom (P)
Choi 'CranK' Jae Won
Axiom (T)
Kim Dong 'Ryung' Won
Team Acer (T)
Seong Won 'MMA' Mun
Axiom (Z)
Jun 'Miya' Jong Bum
Axiom (T)
Min-Hyuk 'Heart' Kim
Axiom (P)
Yang 'Alicia' Joon Sik
Team Acer (Z)
Sasha 'Scarlett' Hostyn
With Heart and Alicia Axiom now has two more strong Koreans. Both have placed well in several MLG events and will certainly do their part in the cooperative lineup. So far "only" MMA, Alicia and Ryung have played in GSL Code S but this cooperation could be a chance for all of them to prove that they are worthy of a Korean tournament like the GSTL.

Scarlett was one of the big revelations of 2012, winning the WCS Canada, the Blizzard WCS: North American Championship and All Killing fnatic and Team Dignitas. She also placed second in Millenium's Pro Cup Worldwide and the Ritmix RSL Season 2, where she only lost 3:4 to infamous
Dong-Nyung 'Leenock' Lee. Now she will be able to put her skill to use in a mainly Korean tournament, even becoming the first female Starcraft 2 player to make an appearance in the GSTL.
Of course everyone else in the team is just as skilled as her, forming a pretty strong squad. With five ex SlayerS members some have even called it a SlayerS reunion and putting together players from a team that has made it to the GSTL finals three times can't be a bad idea. It is surprising though that fan favourite
Arthur 'Nerchio' Bloch is not part of the cooperative roster. According to Team Acer the fact that he would have had to travel to Korea was a problem, since he is still studying.
However even without him I think their chances are not bad at all, even though their competition will be strong, as expected in the GSTL. Past winners Prime, LG-IM, MVP and FXOpen will certainly look to take another season. Maybe they will not take first place in their first try but I would imagine semifinals are a realistic possibility and who knows, maybe a new star will be born and they will make it to the finals after all. If they keep working together for future GSTLs I think they have decent chances of taking a championship.
Seeing a new lineup in GSTL is definitely something worth following and watching. I say let's hope for the best and cheer for Axiom-Acer.
What do you think how they will perform?
