According to ROOT.CatZ it has always been MajOr's dream to be part of a KeSPA team. Now this dream has not only become true but he is even the first non-korean Starcraft II player to do so.Three times now
Juan Carlos 'MajOr' Tena Lopez has joined and left ROOT Gaming, yet their most recent reunion did not even last two weeks. As spontanious as his switches may seem CatZ wrote the following in his statement about the transfer:
Shortly after he rejoined ROOT, representatives from KeSPA contacted ROOT management to inform them of their interest in MajOr. In his personal statement CatZ mentioned that MajOr's contract contained an exception in case he would get a chance to join a KeSPA team. Under these circumstances and with the support from ROOT it did not take long until MajOr was transferred to Team 8.
Along with
Jian Carlo Joan Morayra 'Fenix' Alejo, MajOr is now the second non-korean player to be part of a korean team and the first to be invited into a KeSPA team.
Maybe this is just the beginning of KeSPA's attempts to attract more foreign fans. At least the KeSPA Secretary-General's statement seems to point in that direction:
