In 2012, with the successor still lurking around the corner, we eventually had to weave goodbye to Counter-Strike 1.6 - a game that we all have enjoyed for so many years, was and always will be the backbone of SK Gaming.
League of Legends moved on to become the most popular game to date and broke records for breaking records. The team around superstar Carlos ‘ocelote‘ Rodriguez had its up and downs throughout the year and while we are all but satisfied with our Season 2 Finals performance, we will never forget the emotion and energy we felt during the European Regionals at last year's gamescom.
Let's not forget our three solo superstars: MC, who started off stronger than ever, winning the HomeStoryCup IV, literally taking the trophy at the IEM6 World Championchip as well as first places at the MLG Spring Arena and the Red Bull Battlegrounds Austin. Rapha was, yet a again, the one to beat in QuakeLive and reached legend status already. Last but not least, we gladly welcomed Bruce 'Spank' Grannec, who after a spectacular history of FIFA world champions, brought SK ESWC gold in FIFA 2013. To name just a few milestones of 2012.
With all that being said, we are extremely excited for what is yet to come in 2013. Thanks to our strong and passionate partners, we will try to move SK Gaming to next level as we keep striving for excellence.
League of Legends is promising to be the next big thing thanks to Riots extraordinary support and Season 3 is getting closer as we speak. Expect more news on our team and the planned gaming house in a bit. MC, Bruce and Rapha have and always will be an integral part of SK Gaming's success and we are obviously always looking into new disciplines and will move once we see a good fit.
From a business point of view, we are looking to further form and strengthen partnerships and bring more to the table for you as your community - more interaction to our players, more coverage, more giveaways, and, last but not a least a new polished website.
Thank you very much for your loyalty, keep supporting us as you did in the past and all the best for 2013!
