ImageDreamHack's League of Legends tournament is starting now featuring a couple of the best European teams and a few who came to prove themselves as being a part of that group. Full coverage of the matches is here for you!

Group A will logically start the action today, featuring the champion from DreamHack Summer - EU Counter Logic Gaming EU! Here are the rest of the participants in the group and the first three matches of the group. Note that the matches of the three known teams against the team that will come from the BYOC qualifier will be played tomorrow morning.

Group A

EU Counter Logic Gaming EU vs ES Giants

CLG.EU: Rengar, Cho'Gath, Kassadin

Giants: Anivia, Irelia, Lee Sin

CLG.EU: Blitzcrank, Maokai, Corki, Lux, Shen

Giants: Amumu, Ezreal, Lulu, Olaf, Orianna

4 members of CLG.EU went in the enemy jungle with the intention of stealing the blue buff. They didn't only achieve that but Snoopeh also got the first blood on Babeta's Lulu in a 4v4 engage. The Scottish jungler then helped Froggen get a kill in mid and took one for himself in bot lane with two well executed ganks.

Giants' first kill came after a gank from Exter's Orianna in top lane which allowed him to pick up Wickd under his turret. Soon after CLG.EU killed the first dragon, while Samux' Olaf was taking their top turret. After picking up the second dragon as well as some more kills CLG.EU were ahead enough to win the first team fight that erupted in the river area 4-0.

The champions from DH Summer also destroyed a lot of turrets getting further ahead goldwise. That allowed them to start pushing the top inhibitor turret of Giants and that's where the second, and as it turned out final, team fight happened. CLG.EU managed to score another 4 kills and despite both of their carries got really low no one from their team died. They quickly pushed the remaining defenses of the Spanish team and scored their first win of the tournament.

Winner: CLG.EU

EU Counter Logic Gaming EU vs DE Team Acer

CLG.EU: Nunu, Gragas, Xin Zhao

Team Acer: Blitzcrank, Lee Sin, Irelia

CLG.EU: Ezrael, Olaf, Leona, Anivia, Cho'Gath

Team Acer: Jayce, Graves, Udyr, Zyra, Lux

While CLG.EU grouped up to ward the wraiths of Team Acer, the latter decided to keep calm and just cover their buffs which led to no moves at the start of the game. As soon as laning began, it turned out that CLG sent their bot lane up top to take the two versus one down bot with Olaf, while at the same time both junglers decided to go for a steal on the enemy red buff. Bad luck for both of them since all ganking attempts afterwards turned out leading to no kills.

With the first blood being taken by yellowpete in an early towerdive on Jayce, CLG started taking over the game. While it seemed to be pretty even at all times the superior farming capabilities of CLG won the game in the long run even though Acer was able to steal a baron away from CLG.EU.

After all it was just one of the games CLG really loves, stalling until they know they could win for sure, they just sat back and slowly gained the full control over the game by securing nearly all of the possible objectives.

Winner: CLG.EU

ES Giants vs DE Team Acer

Giants: Xin Zhao, Irelia, Gragas

Team Acer: Kassadin, Twisted Fate, Olaf

Giants: Nunu, Vayne, Shen, Cho’Gath, Anivia

Team Acer: Taric, Ezreal, Skarner, Jax, Karthus

Soon after the game started Anivia picked up first blood on Karthus after a successful gank by Cho’Gath. Skarner returned the favour with a gank of his own in mid lane, which gave Karthus his first kill as well. The constant ganking continued with Cho visiting top lane, where Shen scored a kill on Jax, followed by a double gank in mid by Shen and Skarner where the teams traded 1 kill each.

After a couple more kills traded between the teams Acer was a bit ahead goldwise and went for baron. Unfortunately for them they allowed Cho’Gath to steal it. Both teams also exchanged 2 kills in the skirmish around baron. Giants used the buff to push some towers and when baron respawned, they were there starting it immediately. It was Acer’s time to steal it this time though. Skarner managed to smite it and he payed for it with his life, but it was definitely worth it as his team scored an ace and pushed mid lane till the inhibitor after that.

Soon after Acer managed to get the top inhibitor as well. This made Giants pretty much stay stuck in their base while Acer were taking baron once more. Equipped with the buff, the German team stormed in Giants’ base for a final push and after a quick 2-1 fight in their favour, they destroyed the nexus.

Winner: Team Acer
