The last weeks and months have delivered many bad and sad news to the community of Starcraft II. Some teams were closed, others close to go broke and a lot of players announced their retirement or the switch to another game. Today the next player retires - a Terran again. With
Tim 'merz' Olsson another Terran has just announced his retirement as well. It seems that the reasons for quitting Starcraft II are the same as for many other Terrans as well: lack of success, lack of motivation and basically no reason to carry on playing.
Kyeong Hyun 'SeleCT' Ryoo already switched to Dota 2 and
Seo-Yong 'Rain' Park retired just a few days ago. These two are only some of the latest announcements among professional gamers who retired or switched to another game. Apparently Starcraft II is losing its magic and may be suffering from latest patches.
merz was not that big of a name in the scene but was known for his incredibly high APM, everage APM even higher than the APM of
Seong Won 'MMA' Mun. The Team Dignitas player won the i43 LAN back in 2011 and also scored some top 3 rankings in online cups. As already mentioned the big success was missing and that was probably the most important reason for him to quit. If you want to know more about it, make sure to check out merz' blog on TeamLiquid.
